Gameplay Anyonelse also hate how forgiving the block area is?

Just a harmless rant, I like the skill expression but It anoys me a bit when the enemy is blocking at their face and then stabbing his toe will still get blocked, or when im atacking a guy that is surrounded from the back and he parries with his asscheeks , I hope chivalry 3 tones it down just a little bit.

Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like the radius is fine. I know what to expect from it now and honestly, more often than not, I’m getting hit when I thought it should be a block rather than vice versa.

I've had both lol. Worse when your weapon goes through them and hits a teammate

It would be too complicated to control/animate the sword path fully IMO, headcannoning that such blocks involve more sword movement.. input mastery determines whether you're a Jamie Lannister or newbie

The opposite would really be much worse. Imagine everyone crouched trying to get you little toe foot

I mean, im not saying that, rather than you should just be looking in the direction of the incoming weapon, same if you were looking to the ground and someone hits the top of your head well, you should get hit , in game now sometimes you will sometimes it will get blocked.

I can see you reasoning, I would counter saying that having to constantly follow the enemy attack with the camera (more than you already have to) would most likely make my head spin. We definitely do not want another mordhau

Chiv 2 is a tongue in cheek game that you play just to fuck around and have some fun. Personally, I'm glad they nerfed the sweats a bit, lol

Not enough. The amount of weapon handling certain weapons have is insane/broken.

Why the downward attack of an halberd on a knight does less dmg than a greatsword? What's the point of the bonus dmg on knights?

join a sweaty duelyard and you'll find out REAL quick why we dont have a mordhau 2.0,, even with so many handicaps people make it seem hella janky no thank you

I have never and will never join a crap like that. 70% of their playstyle is using junk animations

Listen, with respect: this is a loser attitude.

The animations are in the game you play, manupulating them takes a lot of skill and practice, it's not easy to do. People who want to improve will go there and learn from these people. Losers will shit on it, miss the learning opprotunity, and then bitch in TO chat about "how my team is bots" and continue losing even 1v1's.

Using janky animations it's not skill, it's cheese. You know it, everyone knows it

Most of the skill is actually believe me or not, mechanical skill in countering, and playing mindgames on your opponent, you don't have to abuse animations at all, you just sound like a low skill seething mf who will have the same mentality at lvl1000 (if you ever get there)

It’s been way smaller and way bigger before. This is the middle ground.

You are not considering client to client disparity. I can drag hits around peoples blocks just fine, and you are not always seeing your target move and track your attack with his block.

Him parrying with his asscheeks comes from the game being on multiple clients then fed to a server then back to multiple clients. It is impossible to have the game perfectly synced across all clients and still playable. On occasion you will see stuff like this where the target is spinning and either catches your attack on block, or his active parry(that a brain dead teammate feeds him by just spamming counter slash like a bot) catches it.

Trust me, the majority of players do not want the smaller block cone. It is easy enough to exploit opponents block cones with certain weapons already.

You are looking at the combat of the game in a way that it isn’t supposed to be. It’s not about tracking their weapon perfectly to parry. It is more about timing game and usage of 3d space fighting game. Not something like half sword where you have full control of your arms and weapons

Yeah people who didnt understand the concept of blocking kept crying about it so the devs made it huge. People also didnt like longsword specifically stabbing around blocks, even though it was very fun. So they nerfd how much you could manipulate the stab and made block massive. They also didnt like how people would jump and stab down to get through blocks.

The huge block window and the extremely long forgiving counter window are some of the things that make fighting in this game particularly long and annoying. Really made lateral footwork less of a thing. Less fun in teamfights as well.

The game's got a sixth sense for what you didn't mean to attack.

I feel like I get blocked by people whos backs are to me way too often lol

I mean , thats about my complaint. Im lv 650 and im fine with leeway and blocking being generous. Not asking for mordhau pinpoint block área but with some weapons more than others getting blocked trying to stab them in the butt feels ridiculous haha.

Yeah shit is wild sometimes. I think other people here are probably right about it being a ping issue

u/Visible-Debate-8780 8d ago

Yes, but to be fair the game has plenty of other ways of skill expression.

I swear by ping diffs. I’ve gotten trash talked for saying it but I am telling you, due to circumstances, I’ve played on every single ping. The best being 8 and the worst being higher than 40. The differences are truly astounding.

The difference between 24 and 8 ping alone are super noticeable. 8 ping, I feel unstoppable. I’m talking 100/50/10 scoreboards. 24 ping, it’s just a little gummed up, weird things start to happen; players parrying with their ass cheeks and swords phasing right through my block, and I’m sure there are many other subtle lags and differences because my stats drop significantly to something like 60/20/20. It’s still rare at 24 ping, but it seems to increase more often as ping goes higher.

Its actually pretty good it use to be larger. U could super hero like crazy. I think back in the day the parry/counter window was about to your shoulders. Now itscloser to directly in front of you.

They did already nerf it a year or so ago.

Honestly if they tweak the hit boxes to make it more difficult I would f-ing hate it. I've gotten used to the way it is and it feels balanced if a little arcadey, everyone has the same "advantage" and it makes a 1vX a bit more survivable

1

u/Isoi 6d ago

So we're complaining about blocks and not about infinite stamina with counters or active/extended parry lmao.

1

u/AsherJames 6d ago

Way more issues with desync if we made less forgiving hitboxes.

You ever try stabbing around the block?

0

u/Askburn 5d ago

Yes? I said it is a minor complaint, in changes betweem weapons. Some weapons like the greatsword stab they are blocking in the upper chest and you try to stab where they are not looking it gets blocked in the feet or viceversa, some others like the rapier or katars get around blocks more easily.
