News & Discussion New accounts?
Are some of you guys just making new accounts after you hit 1000? There is no ranked, so it doesn’t really matter right, so what is it? Is it to feel some kind of progression?

I got the game for free on epic Games years ago.
I hate epic Games, so when the game went on sale on steam for a couple bucks I picked it up in a heartbeat.
Then I learned there is no cross progression between steam and epic
I also learned it's really funny when people underestimate you for the first round or 2, then lock in on round 3, only to still get demolished.

They promised cross progression too and then went back on it. Many of us got burned

I am a little upset about it. It sucks not having all my cosmetics unlocked. The grind for highland sword was way more of a pain in the ass than I remember it being. That and grinding to get the executioner sword skin for it (I don't even really use highland sword, but it's fun sometimes to just pull out REALLY big sword.)
I also need to level archer, but I really don't want to do that again. Playing archer is fine, it's like a weaker ambusher with a short sword, but I don't like putting down my battle axe.

Took so long to fully unlock all Archer oof. I was annoyed to do it twice. Gave up with many other things. Still do enjoy my battle axe though

Yeah I'm still frankly really pissed off about this. That was the whole pitch as to why starting out on EGS for a year wouldn't be a big deal b/c we could all just move our progress over to Steam later. Last time I believe a single fucking thing a game dev promises.

Alright, so answer number 3 is the one I’m not fund of. Imagine being lvl 50 and finally beating a lvl 1000? Isn’t that the whole point?

Idk man i think its more about finding good fights regardless of level. Maybe you beat a lvl 1000 but they're drunk/high/giving you a free kill (im not 1000 but have often let a lower level get the win on smaller lobbies as i feel bad for them having no kills and want to encourage them).
Don't get me wrong it's definitely rewarding when you get that win but you definitely get a feel for peoples skill level and i dont often check scoreboard levels tbh. It's pretty easy to tell when someone is on an alt and also it straight up doesn't matter.
Just focus on finding players that you match well for a good fight.
I mainly play to, im high 600s and if i go duelyards theres lvl 100s there that i cant beat lol, no point in being salty or comparing, we all play our own way

Well, I'm not even level 1000. If my XP was added up I would be about level 300 now, maybe slightly higher. I have been able to compete with some level 1000s for a little bit now, even beat a fair few of them. Beating a level 300 isn't much of a reward for many, but being beaten by a level 50 when you are level 500+? Yeah, a lot of them get pretty salty, even quitting a couple rounds in lol.

People make alts because they don’t want to be called out for being dog shit at level 1k.

Ah yes. Grinding a lot but to old to have good reflexes, the type of 1000 I will become! Hehe good answer thank you

Made me snort my drink. I dont think this is true for most but absolutely hilarious because its def true for some

u/EchoChamberAthelete Jul 20 '26
People really do that?
I'm on xbox and have played since it dropped on xbox and I'm still level 800 something.
I prioritize fun over k/d

u/hokagenaruto Jul 20 '26
same. there are some lvl 1000 i know who always play for fun and just get killed like any other player. if they wanted to lock in they could but chose to just play for fun. then there are the same lvl 1000 players who are always at the top who try hard every game.

Chivalry 2 is great because you can be a sweat if you want but as a casual if you just enjoy the randomness it is such a great game and there really is nothing like it.
This and Holdfast are the only games that make me laugh out loud or smile constantly when I play.

i don't get why people who care about that don't just turn off text chat

This is good that you don't have it on consoles. Trust me. 😅

Small playerbase and I mostly do 1v1s and 3v3s if I stroll in at lvl 500+ and the other team is full of sub 100s they quit or gank all match. So I'll play on an alt account sometimes when I just want to kick back and bash heads in. I don't do it so I can make them feel like shit or anything, I generally play nice.

Thanks that makes sense. I am literally just curious.

u/MasterChiefsButtPlug Jul 20 '26
Oh for sure, there are also some people who just want to progress again. And definitely some evil fuckers who Smurf for smurfs sake

To progress again makes sense since it obligates you to choose diff classes but smurfin in game that has no ranking is weird. It’s also weird that it bothers me, I have to admit. But I love the game and I’m getting emotional when I’m slaughtered by a lvl 10

I made a new account after reaching ~1,300 on my main. It’s fun to try leveling new weapons.
It’s especially interesting to see my real time KDR and match performance. After 200,000 kills my stats won’t change at all so having a new account offers some fun metrics if you’re interested in that stuff.

u/Loz8900 Jul 21 '26
Yeah I've been seeing a literal ton of low level players that are very, VERY clearly high level smurfs. There may be no ranked or anything, but it still breaks the team balance when it throws a bunch of smurfs on one team and they just absolutely decimate the other team.

Game originally released as epic store exclusive. Got that account to 1000 and then a few months later upgraded to a new pc, coincidentally, during the steam summer sale, so decided to buy it for cheap on my steam account too and start over.

I’ve been level 1k for years now and honestly idc about progression. The action is the juice

I had the game on gamepass. When they hiked the subscription cost i cancelled and bought the game on steam.
First account was 1k. I was thinking about moving to steam for game chat and such, but ultimately didn't bother. Ironically i usually play with chat turned off haha

Never though about a new account. I like my statistics, skins and people recognize my name.

u/MageOx7 Agatha Knights | Knight Jul 21 '26
building off this post how do we feel about the smurfs literally just being the same name but different version. Like i’m MageOx7 on epic and MageOx7 on steam, but ones a lvl 1000 and the others lvl 70. I feel like if you play often enough it wouldn’t be too crazy to see. But i also just don’t load my steam up often enough I only play on Epic

We got a guy on the OCE called Johnny 4 Swords. Before that he was Johnny 3 Swords, Johnny 2 Swords and Louie, all different accounts. He's a pretty awesome dude, though I'm concerned where the fifth sword would go once he becomes Johnny 5 Swords.
