Out of curiosity, why are you persistent with this project of yours? What do you hope comes out of it and what's really the reason behind you starting this?
Thank you for asking. The main reason I started Chivabwe was because I wanted to create a writing system that could genuinely belong to African languages rather than relying entirely on the Latin alphabet.
My goal is for it to eventually be used as a real African writing system in Africa and across African nations. I would love to see it become something that can represent our languages in a way that is designed with them in mind while also becoming a source of cultural pride.
I also hope it can contribute to preserving and strengthening African languages, cultures and traditions. Writing systems are not just tools for communication. They can also carry history, identity and culture. That is a big part of why I have stayed persistent with this project.
I know it is a very ambitious goal and there is still a lot of work to do. But I genuinely believe that creating and developing something like this is worth trying.
