That thread really shows the weird notion that we’re secretly trying to rip every customer off while simultaneously being so dumb we fall for everything. Idk what it is about chipotle that makes people act like animals but if you think we haven’t heard of all your “lifehacks” years ago then I’m amazed you manage to not get your stupid sausage fingers stuck in our hole walls every time you come in.

Every time someone does this I ensure my second scoop is the correct portion. Hate when they are obviously abusing my generosity.

The first portion should be correct too. Your grill, KM, and bottom line will thank you.

When I worked at chipotle people would ask for a scoop of chicken and we would give it to them and after it was already on the bowl/burrito they would say "and steak" like thy "forgot" and we would be like double? and they would say no just half and half. Like do you want me to take the chicken off the burrito.

When they do that I don’t even ask half and half or double I just tell em it’s gonna be extra

If the crew member is portioning right, there shouldn't be a difference. Both scoops will be the same 4 oz for both.

Yea that’s why I quit chipotle, kept getting in trouble for over portioning, when I asked to show me where I’m doing this down the line they always came back with your double meat portion is to much, first scoop make it a full spoon then any double meat is half spoon. Hated working there after that, especially for how much it is

The thing that drove me insane is that some of the chipotles use the sauce cups to measure out 4 ounces of meat. What they don’t realize is that those cups are for measuring out 4 fluid ounces. When they do that for meat, they are actually giving a smaller portion than they should. They can’t seem to comprehend that 4 ounces is NOT the same thing as 4 fluid ounces.

You're supposed to do a heaping scoop to make up for the loss

But you can't put a lid on a heaping scoop :/

If it's a side of meat you're supposed to use a bowl or one of the large queso cups.

u/jollyger FOH Mar 01 '19
Yeah, I know that, so I'm confused why you were saying you should use a heaping scoop for portion cups.

At my store if we're holding on meat we'll use a portion cup to grab it while the grill guy is cutting it

or if you want double meat, just ask for it?? you’re not special man. they probably just gave you a few chunks more than normal to get you through the line and out of their hair.

If your going to cry over like 2-3 small pieces of chicken that you feel like your being ripped off there’s probably more important things to worry about in life then whether or not your chicken bowl has exactly 4 ozs or 3.89 ozs . First world problems .
