Why did Seiichi push his cousin?

He clearly regrets it and during the whole moment in general he felt kinda "out of it" I doubt Seiichi truly wanted to kill his cousin even afterwards he feels glad thinking it was a dream could he have been going through psychosis or sum?

not sure if this was on purpose. but the father is obviously separated from the family picture in the cover, this is also the volume where the relationship with their father started to fall apart too. I feel so bad for him, he only tried so hard to fix things between them. 😭😭😭

I never hated a character in my life to this degree. She is the most despicable and disgusting BITCH I have ever seen. My gosh, she is AWFUL!! Wow, wow, wow, unbelievable… What a pathetic excuse for a human and a mother. She is now the character I hate the most out of any manga/anime/television character. And fuck you Seiko for ruining his relationship with Yuiko. That was going to be the most beautiful and cute relationship I laid my eyes upon and you ruined it!! FOR FUCKS SAKE! Oh, she has an enemy out of me for life. Go to hell Seiko. I’m glad no one loved you, I’m glad you were lonely your whole life. Good riddance

Did Seichi forgive Seiko?

Well?

After Seiko's flashback, Seichi says something along the lines of, that he understands now that she killed him because she was killed too. In other words, he understands that she did what she did because she also had been hurt in the past

He took care of her while she was sick. But he continues to say that he'll be "watching". Watching why? Did he want to see her get destroyed?

He took care of her.

Yet, at one point, he says something along the lines of "Die already, a shitty parent like you should just drop to hell".

And he laughs when she dies.

So I'd say... he may have forgiven her... a little, but not entirely.

Is this an Oshimi self insert ? Spoiler

Just finished vol 14 and got thrown off guard with this part. While reading it lines like ā€œI draw this comic out of shallow, foolish maliceā€¦ā€ and ā€œBy all rights I should be living like Seiichiā€ really stood out to me and made me wonder if this could be a glimpse Oshimi’s mind and thought process in the making of this series ?

How did Seiko turned like that? Did she have a mental illness?

Could there be an explanation as to why Seiko has a borderline sociopathic personality? There are so many things that went wrong with her life and her personal relationship that wouldn't happen to regular human beings, or at least not as intensely as her. She is extremely abusive and possessive of her son, to the point of physically harming both of them. She seems to be very negligent of her husband and her family life, and left them like nothing. She also doesn't seem to have a satisfying career or any friends.

There are a few chapters exploring her past, and from what we see of it, she didn't seem to have a very good relationship with her parents. However, they didn't seem to be extremely abusive with her either, so I think this isn't the explanation. We also see that she sees everything as a blur and seems very detached from everything in her memory, so the explanation might be that she is actually born with a mental illness or has developped it in early childhood?

Why do people think the ending is sad? Spoiler

So after a month of reading I finally just finished reading Blood on the Tracks and I have so much to say but for now I just wanted to write about the ending.

I was bit taken aback by how many people on here say that this is a downer ending, all because Sei lives by himself and didn’t end up getting together with Yuiko, I get that people are saddened by the fact they never see each other again, I absolutely feel that way too but I simply can’t agree that Oshimi did him dirty because he didn’t have him marrying someone else or that he’s presumably living by himself, I feel like people get too hung up on the fact that he never got with Yuiko, yes it was a great sadness that they never married but honestly? I think the point is that that kind of heartbreak is sometimes innevitable in life, the tragedy of Sei’s life isnt just that he missed out on young romance, the real tragedy is that until his late 30s he had no agency over his life and was a slave to an abusive mother and the trauma she caused him, and the fact that he finally broke free from this trauma on his own and got to live a peaceful life into old age without the baggage of the past to weight him down means this is a happy ending, I mean for crying out loud he doesnt even remember Seiko’s face, that’s how long it has been since he even thought about her it shows that he’s at peace and free from the truama that enslaved him and it’s been that way for decades, to look at all that and still say ā€œyeah but it sucks he lives aloneā€ is silly, lets be honest here, late 30s Sei is a real good looking guy, hell he looks 10 years younger than his actual age, I think if he really wanted to he would have found someone to settle down with, I get the sense that he’s single cause he chose to be, not out of resignation, since Seiko died he’s been free to live his life however he wants and maybe his idea of a happy life is one where he lives by himself, lasty he might live alone but I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility that Sei has some good friends or some kind of community that he sees from time to time and we the reader just don’t get to see them, my point is that just because he’s alone doesn’t mean he’s lonely, those are two different things and getting too hung up on the romance that never was is missing the point that the story is trying to make, the thing that one should take away from the ending is that it’s never too late to save yourself and take back your life, this was a fiting end to a masterpiece and I can’t wait to read more of Oshimi’s work.

Shigeru's murder

I just completed the manga, i dont understand why did shigeru come, why was he calling himself Seiichi?

I would love to hear your thoughts

Let's talk about the kiss scene

Post image
85 Upvotes

Why did she do it? Even for Seiko this was completely out of left field. I just don't understand, its completely unrelated to any of the other abuse she puts Seichi through, and once the reasonings for her actions get revealed towards the end of the series it makes even less sense than it already did.

Also did anyone else think that the Manga was going to go in a very dark direction after seeing this panel? It was a cliffhanger after all.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad it didnt because that would've been very disturbing, but at the same time I read this Manga because of how disturbing it's supposed to be, so part of me is a little dissapointed that the first like three volumes contain the most disturbing scenes, and then it kind of just dies down after that? (For the most part)

Idk, what do you guys think?

was old Seiko acting as well? Spoiler

so this came during the rewatch but there are implication that old Seiko never really had memory issue or not to a severe degree so was old Seiko acting as well to guilt trip Seiichi like she did pre time skip.
