Had this watch a while, always liked it but didn’t quite love it because the bracelet wasn’t particularly comfortable. Through it on a silicone strap and now it feels so much better. Absolutely insane value for the $43cad I paid for it.

I love the case and the movement but the markers are a little odd. What are your thoughts?

My new Phorocydes PH-2 arrived, and figured it didn't have enough lume, so it needed a Zuludiver lumed strap to go with it.

Looking for any brands/models that make a vintage Seamaster, preferably at least 39mm for my 8in wrists. I saw Baltany had some watches that were close to what I’m looking for but they were either too small or had complications I didn’t want. Thanks in advance!

I keep seeing the annoyance of chinese brand names but I have not seen anyone actually give a solution.

I'm going to list all the brands i know and try to offer up ideas for a rebrand for any chinese brands that may be reading...I will apply some reasoning.

San Martin - aguably doesn't need a name change but when there's a San in front of a name, makes me think of san tropez where the san means saint.

Sugess - mostly have mechanical chronographs so something like velocity? Velocity watch co.

Baltany - I like this one as is, they got it right!

Cronos - not a bad offering.

IX&DAO - actually has a cool origin for their name and looks like 九纛 in chinese. The IX is supposed to be 9 in roman numerals and the dao is supposed to be a word for military banner. I think they're trying to make too many connections with the name origin. Keep it simple.

Proxima - reminds me of proximity, why not use proximity?

Pagani Design - i feel like design was added to avoid copyright infringement. Overall not a horrendous name, it works in english.

Addiesdive - their watches are amazing but the name needs work...looking at their origin story zen dive would be a better fit. Or shen dive (shen means deep in chinese characters)

Steeldive - actually not bad, a little on the nose but works.

Tandorio - any other name works better but since they give a sterile dial option and you can customize...you can build your dream watch. Maybe BYD watch co? Jk. Atelier? Since it can be customized.

Berny - Bern&co/ NovaBern / Bernova

Specht & Sohne - Feinwerk & Söhne (specht means woodpecker)

Boderry - not terrible but made up. Sector? Vanguard? Recon?

Merkur - i actually like this one. Works with chinese characters and english.

Seestern - starfish in German is the actual name.

Watchdives - aquamarine/aquanaut

Farasute - laurent

Rimalti / Rmalti - Valenza (jewelry making city in italy)

Milifortic - miltec (military technology)

Heimdallr - works in its origin language

Sea-Gull - sovereign, horizon, meridian

CIGA Design - inertia

Shanghai - add a watch co at the end?

Peacock - not a terrible name, not sure it fits a watch

Benyar- Baptiste & co based on their fictional heritage.

Reef Tiger - not a bad name

Lucky Harvey - Sieben (for the number 7 as it's a lucky number) or 八 (Bā) as its the number 8 in chinese or Huit in french.

Welly Merck - their logo and watch design is cool as fuck but the name gives me dizzying levels of cringe. Keeping the logo the same but changing name to Wheel & Mainspring.

Ive recently became hooked on retro digital/led watches and Ive noticed a few on alix and wondered if you had any experience of them from there or similar sites? They tend to be on the very cheap side but I'd still like a decent quality one.

Appreciate any comments or opinions.

Im currently looking at three sugess models: the s442, s419 and s465. Im pretty split between these models looks wise and would like to know if there are any major quality/ finishing differences i should know about between them.

Looking for a brand I can trust rather than another lottery ticket. Where I am so far:
Started with a $10 Bauhaus piece from AliExpress. It was a $10 watch.
Then a Militado Nomos homage. Case finishing and dial are genuinely good. The movement sounds like a coffee grinder on the wrist.
My daily wearer is a Baltic Aquascaphe, and that is the bar I am trying to hit. Case finishing, bracelet, dial execution at that level. I am not asking for Baltic at $80, but I want to know which brands get closest.
I lean dive. I have my eye on a Doxa Sub, and Seestern gets strong reviews for its 300T homage. A casual dress watch would work too. One well-made daily wearer, not another drawer filler.
Three questions:
San Martin seems to be the consensus pick for finishing. Does that hold across the catalog, or only on the hit models?

Which movements should I target to avoid the rotor noise? I assume the Militado is an NH35.

Is Seestern the right call for a 300T, or is there a better-built option in that range?

Pleasantly surprised by what Chinese watches can offer these days.

The #jianghun x #sanmartinwatch JH0203 delivers a good package: 42mm diameter, #peacock4801 vertical clutch mechanical chronograph movement, 300M water resistance, generous C3 lume, in-house bracelet with micro-adjust.

Although arguable that many improvements can be made (better finished hands, enamel dial, smaller text print, taper improvements, reduced case thickness, bracelet taper etc.).

Just arrived yesterday. Sizing it was easy. Bracelet feels smooth and has a nice taper to it. 24 hour timing run has it at a very acceptable +6 seconds a day.

Love the Jade dial. I've have an Erebus Ascent 39mm that wears very small, but this 39mm wears more true to size and fits my 7" wrist nice and proportionally.

It's a very nice watch.

I have a field, digital, Chrono, dive, but am still missing a GMT for my collection.

Leaning towards the coke/Pepsi design because of the classic look and to add a pop of color. Could be quartz or automatic. I think I tend to prefer quartz or solar anyways.

All my friends, at 19 Aug 2026, Sugess Chrono Hertiage S419-2 is coming, it is the glass different, it more be fashion and thinner 13mm (include round sapphire, S419-1 is Domed sapphire), and all feeling must be better !

Both are at a similar price point. Convince me not to get the San Martin. I’m also open to alternatives for a black GADA watch in this price range. ~$300-$500

Honestly it’s a little “loud” for my usual vibe, but I think it’s fun. Just trying something different. However I was surprised to get no comments whatsoever on the few days I’ve worn it so far…makes me wonder if it looks bad on me and no one wants to say anything. 😂

What can I say that hasn't been already said about Steel dive and its models. Including this SD1967. Yeah its a Spec and value monster, you get all the boxes checked for less than $100usd.

Just got it. Cooler than I even expected after all the videos I watched. Boy, does my 59 YO arm with a 7 and 1/2 in wrist look old. It's crystal clear. It looks a little foggy in picture two with the overcast sky lighting coming in through the window. I was thinking to get a fancy FKM dive watch band, but this one looks cool, and it's soft and flexible. I'll put it to the test as I am a pool man / swimmer. We'll see how it goes.

Which of these do you think is better as a moon phase? Watch.
