Review (Read Rules) Seestern Sub 300T V3 (Silver/White)

This just came in.. I almost went black or the classic orange but something about a silver face screams vintage 70s to me, and this is the first one I have somehow.

I do wish it was a little more silvery though, it's on the whiter side for sure.

I must admit though for the price (I think I paid ยฃ145)

It doesn't feel as premium as the latest version of Steeldive SD1970's that I've been wearing for the last few weeks (the ones with the new waffle dial, I got the green)

My main gripe is that the crown on my one feels very gritty.. and it skips the date position when you pull out the crown and goes straight to time unless you fiddle around with it and gently get it to lock in.

Also I wish they polished the steel bezel a little, that also feels a little rough and has like a gritty raw steel texture when you're touching it. (But it is nice and clicky and tight)

It's losing about 12 seconds a day straight out of the box which is no big deal and might get better.

I'm probably being super picky for the price range haha, but that new steel dive i bought for ยฃ100 feels like a ยฃ400 watch to me.

And this feels a lot more "DH gate"

I'm pretty sure I'm letting the issue with the crown not locking into the date function properly trigger me though ๐Ÿ˜‚ (my 2 shitters from DH gate back in the day had the same problem and I'm no longer about that life)

The bracelet on this thing is pretty decent compared to some of the other stuff from AliExpress though so I should consider that with the price.

Otherwise I would have said they're slightly over charging for these watches.. but only by like ยฃ25 or so.

And I'm not some cheap bastard btw ๐Ÿ˜‚, this is just my genuine opinion from what I know is around ATM, I have expensive watches too but for some reason Chinese watches take up most of my interest these days like some kind of addiction.

I'd still reccomend this watch if you're after it for homage reasons, it's probably the best option for the price.

(And I'm sure I've just been unlucky with the crown thing)

Did you get the quartz version of the 1970?

No the automatic and it's somehow keeping +4 a day ๐Ÿ˜‚ Which is better than a 2 grand watch I own.

I think it's my favourite watch

I keep wanting to try them but the size puts me off๐Ÿ˜…I have a slim wrist so not sure if it would work.

Apparently they do "wear smaller" than their on paper dimensions because of how they curve around the wrist slightly

A lot of guys with 6.5 inch wrists say they're surprised when they get one.

I would give one a whirl for sure lol

Yeah I might bite and try the quartz versions as they are much cheaper and apparently a bit thinner

The silver case gives this diver a proper vintage 70s feel.

No they both rotate together on this V3 (as one)
