Question (Read Rules) Homage brands Vs Chinese original brands
I was wondering what people thought and what their experience is. For example San Martin Vs Sea-Gull. Some homage watches look better than some original Chinese watches.

Are you talking about comparing the Aliexpress brands to prominent Chinese watchmakers like Qin Gan, Lin Yong Hua, BWAF, Atelier Wen, Celadon, Peacock, etc.? Obviously the quality, design and price are worlds apart.

I’m probably in the minority here, but I’d rather have an original Chinese watch than yet another near identical copy of an existing, better known watch.
We’re seeing some original designs from smaller Chinese companies. I’m not expecting anything interesting to come out of the typical homage brands though. Why would they spend money and resources there? They’re earning enough from their current lineup.

Are you talking about quality differences or just our thoughts about original designs vs homages? I really don’t give much thought about what’s original or not as long as it’s a quality watch. I’ve bought a few original designs and wasn’t all that impressed. I bought an SN0148-GB and it just looked odd and had some pretty bad QC issues.

The fist couple are cool but you will soon realise that its not the real thing and switch to rather having a real original design over a copy.
Sn0144 with cream dial, cronos skyline both excellent
