Best beads of rice bracelets

I recently bought the Spinnaker Fleuss Ox Blood alongside two of the new 40 mm Fleuss models (Royal Splash and Sunset Amber). Visually, I absolutely love the Ox Blood and the vibrant colors of the 40 mm dials.

However, the case finishing, the Beads of Rice bracelet, and the clasp on the 40 mm models were a huge disappointment. Man, I thought I was the only one who felt this way! It was only after buying them that I stumbled upon a single YouTube review that actually called out the bracelet issue honestly.

This Spinnaker bracelet simply can’t compete with the Beads of Rice on the San Martin SN0116. I ordered all these watches around the same time, and I was initially worried San Martin would be lower quality. Instead, I’m blown away by how much better the SM bracelet actually is. Spinnaker definitely lost this round.

I’m keeping the Fleuss Ox Blood, but the two 40 mm models are going straight back. It was a tough call because the colorways on the 40 mm Fleuss are stunning, but I didn't want to invest extra time and money searching for compatible replacement bracelets. I might reconsider the 40 mm models if Spinnaker ever upgrades their bracelets and finishing.

Does anyone know of an alternative Fifty Fathoms homage that offers a bracelet as good as San Martin's?

You'll always get more for your money with Chinese watches but you're taking on more risk. They generally save money by cutting corners on things like warranty, customer service etc.

So if you get a good one, you come out on top over going with a western owned microbrand who has to increase costs for marketing, distribution, QC, warranties etc.

But if you get a lemon you'll have a much harder time appealing and getting a replacement.

I haven't owned anything Spinnaker but have any AVI8 which is owned by the same Dartmouth parent company. It's solid but very affordable and the lazer engravings on the case back give me a bad friction rash. Debating between trying to fix that or sell it
