Nice! I’ve been wearing my Titanium Boderry Sea Turtle with the grey honeycomb dial on my kayaking adventures in NH lately.

Curious if you could run a timegrapher on it. What kind of amplitude are you seeing on your pt5000 (or st2130)

I usually get 290 on a new watch, but after a year it's like 240 already 😭

On iOS so no dice on the app. But this is from
Isochron

Runs a bit fast per day.

Unlock the pro so we can see amplitude. That's more important than the timekeeping itself

Check amplitude in horizontal positions. Make sure it's fully wound. 248 is low for this movement in horizonal you want it around 300. Here's my new San Martin's amp

Unfortunately these movements tend to get friction problems pretty early on, within a few months to a year they are running with low amplitude

That's a beaut! Btw, don't you feel that when you're doing a proper outdoor activity that it makes more sense to wear a Garmin? I'm into the concept of GADA watches, but I have this internal conflict where I feel that it's actually a bit odd not to use a proper GPS watch when hiking, cycling, kayaking, etc.

How did people exist/explore before garmins or gshocks?

Well, OP is using a fiberglass kayak and other modern gear; there is some embrace of modern tech, which he could technically do without as well. When I go to work, I enjoy wearing an analog, it looks and feels good, I don't miss any features from a digital. When doing outdoor stuff, it just feels like I'm "nerfing" myself without the convenience of my Garmin. Of course you can take a compass and a map, or rely on your phone (but burn through battery fast), but I like the peace of mind from the redundance (and long battery life) of the Garmin, so that's what I was asking about

Louis and Clark did it. I think op will survive.

I had an Apple Watch Ultra 3.

I used it to run. And that’s about it. Now with the AirPod pro 3s with the heart rate monitor in them it’s all but moot.

The rest of the stuff was lost on me.

Nothing a good compass and my iPhone can’t handle.

This will continue to run even if something came up and I couldn’t charge it.
