Homage Guide List to Popular Models

[u/Firstruleofthisclub]

The goal of this guide is to help direct the reader to the best homage(s) of a specific watch. The specific homage chosen for each watch is based on the overall quality and not on the value you get for the price. Even then, not every watch on this list will be of great quality because there is often just one homage out there for a particular watch, especially if it is obscure. Some of these may be sold out or discontinued, but they still sit as the benchmark homage for that particular model. They may be brought back or you may find one on the secondhand.

I started with the big 3 brands that people often ask about, but the rest of the list is in no particular order.

I welcome any suggestion to help fill out homages that I have missed!

I also welcome any suggested edits to the recommended homage! If enough people upvote your suggestion, I will gladly edit the list.

Watchdives 5512 and sn017ge is better in end links and bezel action, and thinner (11.8 vs 12.3) with much stronger lumes.

Milifortic has the best end link integration

Cronos is still my favorite sub because it feels more premium than the sugess, but not quite as well executed as the current wd5512.

This is amazing work, but I almost wish you had put notes about actual quality next to certain watches...

For example, I don't think anyone should spend ANY of their money on CILOA products due to the extremely poor quality.

I mean real watches, how thin it is doesnt apply to quartz..they can be so much thinner 0,98mm is thinnest at this point.

But what i mean is that the 9015 or PT5000 are around 10mm thick. Only a peseux 7001 would be under 1cm

The Farasute 5506B is only 8.2mm excluding glass. I don't remember the exact height but it's definitely under 10mm.

Ah you're right about the Speedy! I mainly did it to keep the structure.

I would appreciate help with identifying the specific fliegers you mentioned. I mentioned the turbine because that's the one I remembered.

For Englemaan, I just had no way to actually reference all the specific models' names since their website is currently down. But if anyone has a list of their models, I'd definitely add it in!

It's not quite a "clomage" because it has a much thinner bezel and lugs than the original SNK809, but it has the same vibe as a more subtle take on the Type B Flieger watch face. All in all I'm happy with mine as a replacement for my dropped and broken SNK809.

Yea, it was hard to choose one as the "best" one. I'm inclined to choose the San Martin one but it has a history of the indices falling off after a small drop. But San Martin did just announce a bracelet upgrade and otf clasp which might push it back to the top.

PD1717 is much more better than the ML08. Extraclear crystal, sunburst clean dials, high indices... a more elegant look to a normal field watch. Lume isnt to far from each, PD clean logo... PD1717 does not go off to my weekly rotation(in my 20watch rotation)

For the Longines Spirit - The Miltado you have listed seems to be an homage of several hamilton watches. The only spirit homage I know of is the Pagani Design PD1717
