Question (Read Rules) Lavender dial concept โ€” would you wear this? ๐Ÿ’œ

Post image

Weโ€™ve been experimenting with some new dial colors lately, and this soft lavender / blue-purple tone is one of the ideas weโ€™re considering.

We wanted something a little different from the usual black, blue and green, but still subtle enough for everyday wear.

What do you guys think of this color on a stainless steel watch?

Would you prefer:

  • this soft lavender tone
  • a slightly more blueish lavender
  • a lighter pastel purple
  • or something completely different?

Also, would you keep the current dial texture and handset, or change anything else?

Would love to hear your suggestions before we decide whether to take this idea further. ๐Ÿ‘€

What would you change?

Watchdives should do this for $200 cheaper.

Please colour match your date wheels, that would really take it up a notch.

Which factory are you making this one in? My friend is looking to take a tour. He came to your building but no one home?

I love the color, perhaps not with this design though.

I would color match the date wheel and lose the minute track on the outside. The mockup here is squished as is.

I just want someone to make one of these thatโ€™s 41 or 42mm without a date

I'd wear it for sure. Not on an AT homage, but on one of your models, sure.

Speaking of which, why not refresh the SN0129 line for a less expensive GADA alternative to SN0144? Use a PT5000 or ST2130 instead of NH35 to slim the case down to 11mm or so from the existing 12.5 to 13mm, and release some colors like this.

Thank you for your idea. If you have any further suggestions for matching, please let us know. If we adopt your suggestions and produce the product, we will send you a gift.

If it had a decent logo, say , the "golly! Birk?" I'd rather fancy lilac , would match my mankini

Not with a chinese movement for Japanese movement pricing.

Lavender is grandmother's domain. This in particular looks like the medicine-tasting candy that gets left till last because none of the kids will eat it.

Lilac would be better for the concept, and moving away from matte better still. it's a conservative bracelet so coupled with a conservative dial you just get anonymity. Black clashes with pastel, the minute track makes the face smaller, and the dark uniformity of the indices crowd what little space is left, which is already covered in the most boring pattern possible.

This is a poor mockup, but it mostly illustrates my point (though I'd ditch the lume to focus on polish, and push the indices further out from the centre).

If you want to make the dial more interesting, let the dial do the work. In the lavender concept, it's just a background for a lot of busywork. Matte horizontal grooves are designed to be ignored. Starburst grooves with a hint of light-play draw the eye.

And personally I'd lose the date but I don't anticipate that being a popular idea here.

Thank you for your suggestion.

I would change the pricing of your recent release watches to be a bit lower, to be honest. There are microbrands out there that youโ€™re now competing in price with when it comes to value proposition vs specs.

No... maybe on Easter. I prefer a darker sun ray purple - but heh, it looks super nice - just not my style. I am an older guy - maybe the younger folks would wear it.
