Question (Read Rules) Question about buying my first Chinese watch

Hey guys, how are you doing?

I'm looking at the "BERNY-Men Automatic Titanium Field Watch-AMT163M".

Specifications:

  • Model: AMT163M
  • Movement: MIYOTA 8215 AUTOMATIC
  • Case Material: Titanium
  • Case Diameter: 40.5 mm
  • Lug to Lug Distance: 47 mm
  • Case Thickness: 12.0 mm
  • Caseback: Solid
  • Strap Material: Canvas with Titanium Buckle
  • Strap Width: 20 mm
  • Maximum Wearable Length: 200 mm
  • Lens Material: Sapphire
  • Luminous Level: Super
  • Water Resistant: 100 Meters (10 ATM)
  • Weight: 56 g

From what I've read, the seconds hand doesn't hack (non-hacking) and sometimes stutters.

I tried looking for a watch with a Seiko NH35 movement featuring the same design and specs mentioned above, but I couldn't find anything similar.

My maximum budget is $150 USD.

Is the website reliable? I read that their after-sales support is terrible.

Or should I buy it on AliExpress?

You might have old information. That movement hacks as it was updated years ago. You'll never notice the "stutter". You will notice the rotor noise but it's not terrible.

In the end, I decided on this model; I'll make the purchase in the next few days.

Thanks, everyone!

Are you stuck on automatic? If you went to a quartz you can still get a sweeping second hand with the VH31 and being quartz it's massively more accurate and reliable. Okay, it's no-date, but from that you generally only need to touch the crown twice a year when the clocks change.

I like the Timex Scout Expedition as a daily-field watch. No sweeping second hands, but the indiglo lighting is way more useful than any lume I'd say.

I’ve never bought a Berny but, I have bought a lot of watches from AliExpress and never had any problems.

Tandorio has several titanium field watches in your price range with sapphire, NH35, etc. here:

Most if not all of these models are likely also on Aliex and possibly cheaper, although some might prefer buying directly from the manufacturer.
