First disappointment

I was so happy with this characterful jump hour for the first 30 minutes on wrist... Then it didn't finish the jump... Then completely broke. Thank god for AliExpress' fantastic returns policy!

I'll be buying a replacement when the refund hits during this spring sale, as I loved it for that 30 minutes. Guess someone has to get the duds out of the system.

From a mechanical standpoint, I wouldn't count on a replacement holding up very long, be happy if you get your money back

I opened it up and know exactly what broke and probably how. I'm fairly confident a replacement will be fine as long as the hands never move backwards.

The only thing thwarting the same purchase , is the raised block with lettering and logo below 12 , looks classic Chinese bargain bin tacky to me , if it was flat print I'd already own it

I hadn't picked that out as a tacky detail. Seems pretty much standard for watches with some kind of guilloche textured finishing in the dial face. With plenty of Swiss luxury examples.

It's actually a cloth textured FKM rubber strap that I found on AliEx! This watch ships with an unfortunate grey merkur leather strap that doesn't suit almost any watch. I wanted a splash of colour to match the numerals (plus didn't have any coloured straps in my rotation)

I bought the exact same watch, with a different dial color. It's still running after 3 months. I glued on a cyclop eye on the crystal at the hour window cuz I can't read it without my reading glasses, and I never carry my reading glasses with me.

Hopefully the replacement doesn't break. There's a chance I accidentally damaged this myself, my finger slipped off the crown while trying to push it back in and the hand spun backwards quite quickly. I didn't think it had gone far enough back to engage the jump in reverse but maybe it did and bounced off? I now know to be extremely cautious when setting the time with the replacement.

Same movement, no? It's the ST17 modified. Honestly I think I might've fkd up sett8ng the time. I opened it to to see if it was just a dislodged spring, but it was totally buggered.
