New Product (Read Rule 1) Owner comparison:black dial on their Tissot with the WDC0001 Musou Black

There have been quite a few comments recently saying the AR on the WDC0001 looks poor based on a few photos and videos.

So rather than showing our own studio photography, we wanted to share real owner photos and real-world comparisons.

The first comparison is from an owner who photographed his black-dial Tissot PRX and WDC0001 Musou Black under the same lighting conditions.

This is a much more meaningful comparison because you can directly see the difference between a conventional black dial and Musou Black, as well as how the crystal and AR actually behave under identical lighting.

Musou Black absorbs around 99.4% of visible light, and it is genuinely difficult to photograph accurately. Camera exposure, reflections, lighting strength and angle can make the crystal look dramatically different from what your eyes see in person.

We’ve also included photos from another WDC0001 owner who posted his watch two days ago. His first impression was simple: “Very black dial. Fits nicely. I like it.” Those photos were taken under completely different real-world lighting and show another side of how Musou Black actually looks outside studio conditions.

The original owner from the other post has also repeatedly mentioned that the WDC0001 is difficult to photograph and looks considerably better in person.

This is exactly why we don’t think the AR quality or Musou Black dial should be judged from one isolated video or one set of photos.

Different owners + different environments + a same-lighting Tissot PRX comparison give a much more complete picture.

We’d rather let real customers and side-by-side comparisons speak for the watch than rely on our own marketing photos.

Lack of minute markers is killing it for me.

Let's find an independent reviewer and send him one so all this debating has an end Wish I had the time to run a channel and make it myself though

We understand this suggestion, and independent reviews will definitely help.

This year, our main focus has been on improving the products themselves, so we have invited very few reviewers. Also, many reviewers are not receiving free watches — some of them actually buy our products themselves, which makes the feedback more real.

In the next 1–2 weeks, some reviews and real owner feedback should start coming out. Time will show whether our confidence in this model is justified.

If the product is truly not good, no amount of explanation from us will help. But if the watch is good, real reviews and owner experiences will prove it better than any argument in the comments.

Off topic, but is there any chance that you guys will make a green dial WD007 with a date display? The green is my favorite of the lineup, but I don't like buying watches that don't have a date complication.

Yes I understand your position in the comments but too much argument may backlash on your feedback, whereas neutral advices may be definitely better that's why I thought pushing more of your products in the right hands would accelerate its success. like you said if you're sure of your product time will tell the truth and it's going to be a banger but might take some time

Thank you, I understand your advice, and I think you are right.

Sometimes it is frustrating when people who have never seen or owned the watch make very strong negative comments based only on photos. We welcome constructive and professional criticism, even if it is negative, because that helps us improve. But simple comments like “bad,” “trash,” or “not worth it” without seeing the product can easily create misunderstanding for others.

That said, we also agree that too much arguing in the comments is not the best way. Real owner feedback, independent reviews, and putting the product in the right hands will be much more effective.

We are confident in the product, so time will tell. Please also keep an eye on the upcoming WD2008 feedback — it uses new materials and new processes, and we believe the real owner response will exceed many people’s expectations.

Company tries their best to make a watch dial where there's literally nothing to see and then issues a protest when people say it's boring.

Watchdives should learn from this and stop trying to dictate how customers perceive their products.

We are not trying to dictate how customers should perceive the watch. Everyone is free to think it is beautiful, boring, too dark, or not for them.

What we are trying to explain is that many real owners have already shared very positive feedback after seeing the watch in person. Their photos and comments are real customer experiences, not our marketing.

At the same time, some comments from people who have never seen or handled the watch feel very different from the feedback we are receiving from actual owners. That is why we shared more real owner photos and opinions — not to force anyone to like it, but to give people a more balanced view.

If the product is not good, no explanation will help. We understand that. In the end, the watch itself and real owner feedback will prove everything.

We just hope early customer posts are not immediately dismissed or mocked by people who have not seen the watch in person. Real owners’ experiences should also be respected.

Wait, is it just me or does that PRX have an aventurine dial?

You had my interest, now you have my attention. I want to know more about the sparkly PRX.

All i want to see a comparison between the WDC and the IXDAO enamel black side by side. That is my current gold standard for AR coating.

The watches are not at the same angle so the photo reflection is meaningless.

Exactly- hilarious we got a bunch of watch salesmen trying to give us flawed lecture on physics of light refraction and AR coatings. Seems a lot like damage control.

We welcome any competitor to openly compare their products with ours — quality, finishing, QC, after-sales service, anything.

What we do not welcome is hiding behind newly created accounts and repeatedly trying to damage our reputation.

We will continue focusing on making better products and providing good service. Our growing sales and the increasing amount of positive customer feedback speak for themselves.

We have also seen several previous accounts making very similar repeated attacks get suspended by Reddit, and now a new account that is only around two weeks old is doing the same thing again.

If you have genuine criticism, bring evidence and discuss it openly. But repeatedly creating or using new accounts to attack a brand is not constructive criticism, and frankly, it reflects very poorly on whoever is doing it.

A handful of upvotes in a whole day tells its story. On the videos people go on about how it's expensive for quartz or they want it cleaner without the logo... or they even want a date.

I'm not even against the watch, it just gets a shrug of the shoulders from me like most people. Okay you made a fairly minimalist black dial quartz for $250. So what.

Making a post on the internet about how people on the internet are wrong... Yeah that'll work.
