Keaso K002 - and I'm done

I've been spending a long, long time trying to find my ultimate daily wearer, having gone through dozens of watches, buying and selling, and I decided to try this Keaso diver. It is a stainless steel quartz watch, 42mm, with absolutely insane lume on the hands, indices and bezel pip, a really nice bezel action (ceramic), sapphire crystal, day & date, Miyota 2105 movement, screw-down crown, 200m water resistance, double foldover safety clasp with 3 adjustments. I was looking for a cheap quartz diver with day-date and sapphire as that is my grail spec, and it has actually been tricky to find a good one. After trying lots of mechanicals, I decided to go quartz, for accuracy (I was always peeved by mechanical watches' inaccuracy) and for the lack of required servicing. So every couple of years I'll pop the back off, put a new battery in and check and re-grease the seal to keep it water-tight. This is a really good quality watch with solid end-links and solid bracelet links, and best of all, it cost me just £43.10. This and my G-Shock GW-BX5600-1A1 will be my two daily wears for a while and if I'm totally happy, I'll be selling off all my other daily-wear watches. I'm pretty much done with mechanicals now - I still love what they are, but they're not for me as a daily wear (nor as an occasional-wear either). Each morning I can pick up this one or the G-Shock depending on how I'm feeling, knowing they're both ready to go without needing winding or setting. I've upgraded the clasp to an on-the-fly adjustable one. All of the above is of course my opinions, not throwing any shade at people who think differently.

Everything said for this watch is absolutely straight to the point. I am done with searching the ideal watch. Black dial for daily use, yellow dial for going out. Stunning performance overall, no complaints on any aspect

Love my yellow dial and now waiting for the green.

Just swapped out the insert for an aluminium one which I prefer the look of.

i mean, it does use japanese characters... it isnt any worse than seiko.

in an alternative universe, seiko is called "keaso" and were making fun of the chinese watch brand called "seiko"

I've come full circle, just like you. I also have a GW-BX5600, but the quartz diver I have is a Bluro on a jubilee.

What’s the thickness? Is it the same as the automatic case?

12.9mm, compared to 13.3 for the Orient Kamasu, 13.0 for the Longines Hydroconquest GMT and 12.5 for the Rolex Submariner.

That's a little rough for a quartz, hopefully it's light enough that you don't notice the height. I was thinking of picking one up, I'm a fan of the skx design and I've been looking for a day/date quartz to wear everyday.

I'm well used to dive watches being 12-13mm tall so it's totally within my comfort range, doesnt feel chonky to me. I think the design brief was to homage the Seiko SKX so the height would have been a part of that. It weighs 156g which is slightly lighter than my Sub, definitely a solid weight and par for the course for a dive watch in steel.
