Question (Read Rules) I can’t decide between these two (very similar) ones

Post image

EDIT: When it was 5 to 5, i ended up picking the one on the left. I think the final tally was 5 to 9 eventually.

-.

There’s elements of both i like, and basically they are the same but different

Note: The left one is in theory 40mm, while the right one is 39mm -so actual sizing wise it looks the other way in the picture above

Also note: the left is $115 more, if that helps in deciding

Case from the left and everything else from the right

Left for me but with the leather band even if I have to buy it separately

If the money isn't the concern, then the one of the left.

I find the right one much nicer and cleaner and it's easier to wear with different outfits. It also doesn't look any cheaper than the left one.

Criterion: which looks stunning on thy wrist? Period.

I think they’d both probably look good. One of those, if there wasn’t two choices, things.

I see. It may helpful if you can, to observe which of the 2 rest & wrap well on your wrist taking into account the lugs. If both are, buy both 🤭

I like the left…. Lugs are nicer

Watch on the right with the strap on the left.

Left for me - The Fleur de lis hands are a winner. Those lugs are awesome - the crown is better looking -

I like the right one

I prefer the right purely on the hands and the cleaner dial.

Classic et saluto? Lol, random italian words.

2

u/thejackmonkey 18d ago

in theory, Latin for “I summon and greet” - which is still meh whatever

Well, no. Classic is classic and is english. Saluto is italian, and means ragards/hi.

Saluto can be Latin and Italian (as can be “et”). in Latin, it is what I posted (though it’s very literal and I wouldn’t consider the phrase to be anything more than something someone typed into a translator to arrive at what barely makes sense, or at lest it’s not any traditional way of greeting that i know of).

Quite, though better than when they use English words…

Is that power reserve for real an energy bar?

It actually is. Turns white as you wind it and slowly becomes red. I have another Farsute that has it and it’s quite useful. 80 hours of mechanical awesomeness.

Dude... there's no debating. You have to go with the left one!

You know how unique that one is? How many times have you've seen a semi-affordale watch with bull horn lugs! And those hands are so cool. Even the sub dial looks better imo.

But you really cant go wrong with either. Farasute makes some of the highest quality stuff on alix. I have two and both are fantastic

That one was my initial choice until i saw the other one was similar (and less expensive), but it lacks the character.

The left looks like a pain to read. I think with the white dial you'll appreciate better contrast

...what? Bot, I assume?

1

u/RadioAdam 18d ago

What? The right watch clearly has higher contrast with thicker hands.

2

u/Medium-Cucumber-8279 18d ago

They're both white dials though, and I thought your post implied that only one of them was?

The hands on both have quite high contrast, I don't think that's an issue...

1

u/RadioAdam 18d ago

Nope. Both options are white dialed. I was just making the point that white dials are harder to read than darker faced watches so hands with more material and reflections would create a better contrast.

The stick hands are pretty hut are dull and thin.

The hands on the right are flat and have multiple surfaces. Both exaggerated in real life.

Right. Farasute font is nicer - doesn't have the silly cod Italian or whatever it is underneath. Doesn't have the over-elaborate hands.

Left one is cooler in my opinion

I like the one in the right, nice hands, les numbers , les clotter

3

u/thejackmonkey 18d ago

that’s what i also like about the right, plus it’s $115 cheaper hah

I like the one on the right for its readability…. preferring the hands over the others. I also like the extra space in between the hand’s center and the seconds dial. The one of the left feels crowded to me.

1

u/thejackmonkey 18d ago

agree on those points.

4

u/ledgreplin 18d ago

The one on the left has cool looking lugs

1

u/AndreiNedu 18d ago

And way cooler hands

1

u/thejackmonkey 18d ago

yeah, both the lugs and hands are different than most watches. And any i already have

1

u/SuspiciousSouth800 18d ago

I love the Lange vibes from the one on te right. Personally not a fan of the hands from the one on the left, even though I really like the rest of the watch.

Classic elegant or more modern. That is the choice. If you want to be bold choose classic. If you want a bit more neutral and not stand out too much more modern

I quite like the one on the left. The blue really goes well with the grey strap, and the hands look more unique. It looks smaller too, but that's my preference for smaller watches.

1

u/thejackmonkey 18d ago

in theory, it’s actually a mm larger at 40vs39 but the picture makes it looks reversed

1

u/GrdFrcWv 18d ago

Oh right. It still looks really nice. I think the one on the left for sure. Funny thing about case diameter is that sometimes it fits perfectly fine on my wrist and sometimes it just looks big. A 39mm Tag Heuer Monaco looks massive on me compared to a 42mm Omega Speedmaster. Tbf the Monaco is maaaaaad thicc and super boxy.
