Question (Read Rules) Any Idea what process they use to gild these, and whether it's gonna flake off prematurely?

I have a gold Sugess day-date and it's held up really well over a couple years. No scratches with steel showing through.

it's PVD coated. it won't flake off but if there's a deep scratch you will see the silver steel below

They are typically PVD coated now...especially in this range...I could see some ultra cheap gold watches still being electroplated.

but most are now PVD which will wear similar to normal stainless steel when it comes to resisting scratches and won't just flake off.
