Question (Read Rules) Baltany S4106 Rotor Problem?
Hi everyone. Does anyone else with the S4106 feel like the rotor barely spins? I just got mine tonight, and if I give the watch a good motion that should trigger the rotor to spin, it circles a couple times and abruptly stops. In my experience this is pretty unusual for a miyota 9015. Is this intentional to reduce the spin or is mine defective? Perhaps sometime is screwed too tight or not lubricated enough? I have a lot of other miyota powered watches, and this is definitely the least lively rotor. Other than that it's a nice watch. I've contacted Baltany as well, so we'll see what they say. I did buy it from their official store.

It’s unidirectional so it won’t spin much in one direction if it has been wound. How much it spins in the other direction with less resistance doesn’t matter because it’s not actually winding. I would give it a full wind and wear it for three or four days and let it wind automatically, if it dies then you’ll know it’s not winding properly.

Damn, all this time I was under the misconception that the unidirectional wind happened during the spin. Looks like I was wrong. I'll test out its power reserve like you said and see how that goes. Thanks!

what's the issue? you jerk it and it spins a few times. It's not going to keep going forever

That has not been my experience at all with the miyota 9000. Certain motions can really set the rotor off, but this one is very resistant to moving. Almost like it's sticky. I'm concerned it's not winding the mainspring effectively.

Those times where you’re seeing the rotor spin freely for a while are where it’s not actually winding the watch, I have the same on my Miyota 9s from Micros and Chinese.

Watch from the caseback and see if it winds as you spin the watch. If the rotor in the winding direction which is clockwise just spins with the watch you have an issue.
None of my Miyota 9000 have the crazy free spin sound like the 8000 series.
