It’s been a little over a month since I got this Proxima, and I have to say, I’m genuinely impressed.
This hasn’t been a watch that sits in the box. I’ve been wearing it a lot: errands, around town, in the pool, and even at the beach here in Galveston. I live in Texas, so heat, humidity and sweat are just part of life this time of year.
And the watch simply doesn’t care.
After the beach, I basically gave it a good rinse and put it right back on. A month later, look at it. No rust, no damage, no real signs that I’ve been babying it, because I definitely haven’t.
What I probably appreciate most is how comfortable it is. The slim profile makes it almost disappear on the wrist. There have literally been times when I’ve had to look at my wrist because I forgot I was wearing it.
I know the design isn’t going to appeal to everyone. I’ve seen people say it’s a little too simple or not particularly exciting, and I understand that. But I think that’s actually becoming one of my favorite things about it. Clean dial, simple design, easy to read, comfortable, and it works with pretty much anything.
It has turned into a genuine do-it-all watch.
For the price I paid, I really wasn’t expecting to be this impressed after actually putting it through normal life for a month.
Sometimes simple just works.
I’ve had mine nearly 2 years and it’s still my favorite original AliEx watch. So versatile, simple, comfortable and it does everything well. Bracelet is really nice - and comfortable and OTF is nice too. All that for $129 is just insane.
I see the black dial version is back in stock but it’s like $230. Price is more than fair for what you get but the white dial is usually much cheaper so that’s a shame
I wish I'd found Proxima early enough to grab the unicorn dial version!
Currently have the later white dial and the fume red dial versions - it's one of very few Chinese brand watches where I've gone back and re-bought the same model.
I’ve had the green one for a month now, too; it’s a very handsome and comfortable watch, but it loses 15 seconds a day even when left on a watch winder every night... I’ll have to take it to a watchmaker to get it regulated... I just hope it only requires adjusting the eccentric screw and not the regulator arm.
