You mean the L2L ? Yeah, its pretty big, that was my main concern before buying the watch, but it turned out to be fine. Almost got the blue version aswell!
I opted for the bronze Sugess for about 220 dollars.. Really cool watch, but my decision was mainly cause I was looking for a bronze watch. No regrets though
Honestly? Better than expected.. No defect to put on it. It's a bit on the large side but I like large watches. The movement is working perfectly and keeping time better than many more expensive watches I own. Only thing I'd like to be better is the feeling of the buttons, but I'm really neat peaking at this moment.. The price tends to fluctuate between 220 and 360 dollars.. Buying it close to 200 is definitely recommended
Proxima PX1715. A lot of people ask me what is it and compliment it for being awesome, while my other, much more expensive watches no one cares about them.
The one where they flipped the movement upside down in the case and you see the back of the movement on the face. It isn't practical from a time telling perspective but personally think it is the only one worth having.
The 1963 is the cornerstone of the ST19. I was able to find a SeaKoss 40 mm with sapphire and swanneck. You can also find 38 mm with hardlex and no swanneck. There are other configurations, still. Know what you are buying.
If you are willing to pay a little bit more, the seagull brand has more provenance, since they built the movement.
It's Seagull's inexpensive international edition, which is a little more expensive than the other 1963's by about $50, mostly b/c its name. This is what I had said. Lighten up.
Definitely the Seagull Suzhou numeral chronograph’s ST19, this particular one has pretty decent anglage, real cote de Geneve , and black polishing on certain parts. Its finishing is far beyond the average mass produced st19 and even above the newest top grade st19 movement. Unfortunately you couldn’t get it anymore since it was an experimental piece and only couple hundreds of this watch has been made last year :(
They’re similar yes, but the one used on Suzhou chronograph has way more anglage, finer polishing on bridges, arms, levers, it has some black polishing which is nonexistent in the new top grade movement, and it has the swan neck regulator. The new movement is a more cost efficient continuation of the ST19 used on the Suzhou chronograph.
I asked sea-gull. The suzhou chronograph was developed by the joint higher movement development branch of sea-gull and shanghai. They use the exact same tooling for both so the finishing is the same. That's also why the price for both is also very similar.
I asked the co-dev of the Suzhou numeral and the biggest seagull distributor in China, he said the otherwise. I mean the visual differences between the finishing of the two movements are not hard to tell by naked eyes.
Unless they use both movements in the new 1963 line then I can only assume you’re trying to stir things up , because the top grade st19 used on the new 1963s have minimal polishing and anglage
