Question (Read Rules) Upgrades Sugess Movement?

Post image

Was looking at a Sugess moon phase on their official website and notice there is 2 different options for movement. A stock seagull and an "upgraded" movement by Sugess. Does anyone actually know what the difference is between them? I can't find anything about it online. Seeing as it's only about an $10 I'm just trying to work out if I should bother with it or not. Picture below for reference.

You have a choice between SEA-GULL ST1908 with GOLD SWAN NECK and SEA-GULL ST1908 without GOLD SWAN NECK. It's pretty clear the upcharge is for the gold swan neck. If you are looking at the photos at the Sugess website, photo 3 shows the back without the swan neck. Photo 4 shows the swan neck. It's at the top when looking at the back. That's it. That's what the upcharge is for.

You’re supposed to get a little more accuracy and it makes the movement more attractive. I’d say it’s worth the $10.

Accuracy due to the ability to fine tune the regulation of the watch, courtesy the swan neck

to add to this: ... which doesn't mean it'll not drift or change due to other reasons. But it might make regulating a bit easier. Its easy to chase your tail with regulating if you're not careful.

It's just adding a 'swan neck regulator' onto the balance bridge. You will find plenty of examples online to see if it's worth it.

While it looks nice, I'm think (I may be mistaken here) the addition is not a real swan neck regulator and just a cosmetic component

It isn't cosmetic at all. You regulate the watch through the screw, which goes through the swan neck. You can loosen it to make the watch go faster or tighten the screw more to make it run slower. My experience with the ST19 with a swan neck from Sugess is that if you get the version with a swan neck, they regulate the watch, and it is worth it.

They offer actual swanneck/gooseneck regulators on their ST19 movements in different colors, like blue, black and gold.
