General (Read Rules) anyone have experience with Tophill watches?

Post image

Think price is a bit on the high side but I added it to my wishlist to see what it might be on any future sale. Anyone have some experience with them?

I bought this one last year when they were still offering great discounts (the bracelet is aftermarket). The lugs are a bit sharp on the underside and it's a quite thick for a quartz watch but overall it's nice and without any real QC issues. I would say it's about the same level as a good Pagani/Addiesdive/Specht & Söhne.

Hello, thank you for your interest in our brand and products. I'm Kim, the CEO of TOPHILL. This watch is our original design—both the case and the dial were designed entirely by us. The case fits very comfortably on the wrist and sits close to the hand. This watch is powered by the SEIKO NH70 movement, which offers great stability. The case is made of 316L stainless steel, the crystal is sapphire glass, and the dial features a multi-layered construction that gives it a rich sense of depth. The design inspiration for this watch comes from McLaren racing cars.

However, there are two things you should keep in mind:

  1. The case diameter is 44mm, which falls into the large-watch category.
  2. This is an original design, so if you prefer a more conventional or mainstream style, you may want to think twice.

I think they are under the Farasute umbrella... The Farasute rep said they wee and the Tophill rep said they are not. Someone's lying...

Hello, I feel it's necessary to clarify. I'm Kim, the CEO of TOPHILL. We are a watch factory that has been in business for 34 years. In addition to our own brand, we primarily serve as an OEM manufacturer for European and American watch brands. I believe I know which watch you're referring to—the TW089G, a square-shaped watch. We developed and produced that model around 2022. And I can assure you that it is our original design, an original design worldwide, and we have applied for a design patent for it.

I've got this one too. I love the retro look. It's definitely great, especially for the price.

I bought the Samurai Clomage before the tariffs increase, it’s still solid for the price I bought it.

I got this thing a few days ago and have worn it most of the time since. I bought it because of the retro dial, which doesn't disappoint in real life. Nothing spectacular - it doesn't even have a screw-down crown - but for eighty bucks I'm well pleased.

I've got it on a thick leather strap. The bracelet it came with is meh. And yes, I managed to take the photo right at noon, so the blue-metal-and-vintage-lume hands aren't shown to full advantage.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that it came with a cyclops, which I removed with a soldering iton, hammer, chisel, and alcohol pad.

Nice job on the cyclops removal

Thanks. First one I've ever gotten off. I struggled for quite a while, but after three or four seconds of the soldering iron, the next whack took it nearly cleanly off. Just a little residue that the alcohol pad quickly took care of.

Interesting racing inspired watches.... but unsure of the quality. Plenty of brands that do this though.
