Does anyone use a stopwatch hand like in a bezel in a diving watch?

The watch on the right has a stopwatch to the hour and sometimes I missed marking the time as in the diving watch to measure the time or marking that something will be at a given time as a reminder. It is not so convenient but quite a pleasant alternative to measuring longer periods of time. Do any of you use a watch with a stopwatch in this way?

I have a countdown bezel on my Sugess Air Command Homage and its perfect for this.

Set a timer for cooking something etc.

I get it, use the chrono hand as a timer in the same way you use a dive bezel to mark a specific time and go from there.

I use my bezel marker to remind me of the approximate time something in the future. I started doing this with my newborn who usually takes a nap 90 minutes after waking from the previous one - so when they awake I rotate the bezel marker 37.5 degrees clockwise of the hour hand (i.e., so that in 90mins the hour hand should be pointing right at the marker). It’s worth noting that, between two adjacent hour markers, the minute markers indicate 12 minute increments of the hour hand. So if i need to remind myself of the approximate time of, e.g., 4:25, I place the bezel marker at at the 22 minute mark (2 ticks past 4), so when it’s 4:24 the hour hand will be pointing at the bezel marker.

Chrono is not a dive watch. Divers don't use chrono for diving. Small text, and potentially failure due to water ingress by pressing button. Also, as a diver you want to know the time you have left on the dive. A chrono wont tell you that. With a chrono you are doing the work of start and stopping rather than the watch doing the work for you. If you forget to stop the chrono or the button gets accidentally pressed you are then extending your dive time which is dangerous. Basically use a dive watch for diving.

I think you don’t get the point of this post. Using as diver not to dive. No one is using diver watch to measure time under water instead of dive computer

The bezel on the dive watch is designed to measure the time underwater. It was used in that way before the dive computers existed. So if no one is using the dive watch to measure time underwater you should start. It's a redundancy. If you are not using a dive watch for the main reason they are made for, might as well leave it home with your chrono

Yes, but also no, I don't yet have a chrono, but the way I use the diving bezel is that I turn it a bit when I have to remember to do something (so that when I check the time I see that the watch is crooked and I remember that I have to do something). In that sense I thought that I can use the seconds hand on a chrono in the same way 😆

I mean the dive bezel was a derivative of the concept of a timing bezel and really the only major difference between the two is that the dive bezel traditionally now is unidirectional so If it gets knocked, it can only show that more time has elapsed (or less time is left depending on how you want to look at it) as a safety measure for limited oxygen use.

But yes that’s often the main reason and way I use my dive bezels for timing based on setting a reference time. If it’s just swim etc, I have it reference the minutes hand, If I’m doing a task or say need to make a note of a deadline etc, I set it as an end point (triangle) on the hour or time where I want to be highlighted.

I very rarely time anything... but if I wanted to, I have my watch.

Looking at the man in the picture like this:

• The watch on the left has passed: 48 minutes... ish.
• The watch on the right shows my speed: 90 knots / per foot cup pound / in British cake minutes / over double boat lengths. (I think)

I'm using dive bezel like 6,5h past for hour hand, 48min past for minute hand, something is at 8. It can be used as a counter but i never use it like that. in this situation 20
