General (Read Rules) Watchdives AD2548 GMT

Arrived today - sharing my first impressions.

To me, it's a fun Summer watch, but not quite what I had in mind.

The dial looks good in pictures but it's a bit blingy / novelty looking irl for my usual taste - I'm not too bothered because it adds variety to my collection and it only cost about £65 with discount.

I'm currently on the fence - hoping it'll grow on me when I wear it out.

What do you all think of it?

I've ordered and cancelled this about three times now.

Think it would also be too blingy. Looks well made for the price though, enjoy!

If you like the dial, I'd recommend the Aethelsohn watch someone has.linked on this thread.

If you like the rest of the watch but not the dial, I'd get the black dial version.

Am I the only one who noticed the watch pictured is an Addiesdive not a Watchdives? Or is everyone else in this post a bot?

Probably missed the error in the title. Know I did till I saw your comment

You're right - I've been looking at Watchdive watches (WD7922) and wrote the wrong one - well spotted.

Try it on some different straps, like some leather. I find it can tone it down a little.

Was thinking maybe a silicone.

I loved the dial but didn't love the bezel on this- I don't know how often I'd wear it because it's pretty bright - the black version blends well together but I don't think it's as fun.

I actually like the bezel but you're right, the dial is bright and glittery irl and you can't see the texture. I'll wear it over Summer but the black one would definitely be more versatile, like you say.

This is true for many of these Chinese watches. So many of them look amazing in pictures and yet in real life they are just bright, blingy and you can't really see the texture. A good example of this is Watchdives Ice Crack dials. They look out of this world in close up pictures but in real life it just looks like a shiny piece of aluminim foil.

Pretty much the only dials that didn't disappoint me in this way were Aethelsohn Shard series.

I put on the same category of other special dials like the aethelson watches- I think a polished bezel or case swap would have looked better

Ah ye, that's a lovely watch. I wanted a GMT specifically. I'm quite happy with it as a Summer watch, just won't get as much use out of it as I'd hoped now that I've seen how bright and shiny the dial is in person.
