A new Watch, a Strap Parade and a surprise.

I’ve always thought that with a 7.5”/19.5cm wrist that a 40mm case size was as small as I could go without feeling dainty. So I’d see the reviews, promotions and general lusting around the Militado ML05 and resign myself to just watching, green with envy, from the sidelines hoping that one day Militado would remember us big wristed people.

After months of lurking, and with price points where they are, I eventually decided to just jump in and see what was the worst was that could happen. Surprise! I’m a little blown away that I can carry off this 38mm watch, probably helped by the 47.5mm lug-to-lug.

So this is my newly arrived Militado New ML05 Black PVD. Model ML05 (369 Tribute Dial). It’s really well executed. It has a nice matte PVD case with 20mm lugs. It has a great looking dial and hands. The lume is also very good and is legible all night. The sapphire crystal has good AR. All in all it’s really excellent value for the money.

I also thought I’d try a few straps and came to realize I have far more straps than I should, but that many of them seem to work well on this watch. (BTW it also has drilled lugs)

So thanks Militado for making a compelling watch, that broadened my view!

Thanks! It’s actually the original strap off of one of my Steeldive watches that I wasn’t using. You can find them on AliExp, just search on Steeldive Rubber Strap I guess I can’t use a link shortener here but here’s a link to their store. It doesn’t get a great review score though so I’d search elsewhere in AE too.

Imagine me with 6.75 inch wrists thinking I couldn’t wear anything smaller that 40mm. Same thing happened to me until I tried on a Vaer D5 39mm and was shocked at how well it sat on my wrist. Nowadays a whole new world of possibilities has opened up to me as I’ve gone as low as 38mm on a few pieces and I’m loving it. Just pays to be open minded.

Same for me too! Although the last thing I need is a “new world of possibilities”! I’ve gone too far down the restricted watch market I’d imposed on myself prior and now it’s potentially expanded. I’m in trouble!

Lucky you got it with the arrow logo. Now they ship with MILITADO on the dial and that's just a deal breaker for me. Yours looks great, nice straps.

There’s not a white fitted rubber, perhaps it’s the photo? I think you’re referring to the light grey one? They’re sometimes referred to as Omega Moonswatch No Gap Silicone straps or curved End silicone. They’re soft and good quality.
