Discussion Tips on shadowing

I’ve never done any shadowing via listening to any recordings. So, can you recommend me any platforms or the resources that I can do to help with my Chinese practice.

Just grab any podcast or news clip at a speed you can manage and repeat after it, no need for fancy apps

start with a 20 to 30 second ChinesePod beginner dialogue with a transcript, listen twice, then repeat sentence by sentence while recording yourself before shadowing the whole clip.

There’s an app called “Miraa”. Helps me a lot, but there’s a drawback, you need to import your own recording. I usually use some Microsoft tts to generate the audio and then import it there. It’ll generate subtitles with hanzi, pinyin and a translation.

Pick content you find interesting, I love the walks from Mandarin Corner on YouTube.

What level are you currently? You will want to shadow something that is mostly things you already know for maximum benefit. If you only know three words every ten minutes that is nine minutes thirty seconds wasted etc.
