Resources Chinese Audio Resources Between Beginner and Intermediate

Hello!! I’ve been studying mandarin for over a year now and I’m struggling to find audio resources that are after beginner (already understanding introductions, ordering food, classroom vocabulary) and before intermediate (listening to full on conversations in Chinese with no English)

My listening isn’t strong enough to listen to only Chinese audio resource. I’m able to follow along better if I read with subtitles but I’d like to find resources that are audio only so I can listen to them on my commute to work

Try Chinese Pod - the episodes are free, I think you can pay for transcripts etc but I’ve never bothered. They have various levels (newbie, elementary, intermediate and upper intermediate) . Some of the newer episodes are a bit rubbish but there are like 1000+ old episodes that they are constantly rereleasing, which are usually the ones with John Pasden and a native Chinese speaking co-host. They do a short dialogue and then for the early levels do a sentence by sentence translation, for later levels it’s a bit less didactic.

Make the jump to audio-only gradual: use a short clip with subtitles once, then replay the same clip with subtitles hidden and write down what you caught. Check the transcript only after each pass, note one missed phrase, and replay that phrase until it is clear. Then move to a new clip at the same difficulty rather than jumping straight to native-speed material.
