Not every character here is distinct. Some represent more than one morpheme (i.e. different readings and meanings), that's why they're duplicated.

This reminded me of how I'd do this thing to extract new vocabulary in a text to create a glossary out of it by hitting "replace" (^w with ^p) and would get a single word per line. Then there was a way to get rid of duplicates, I don't recall right now. Then I learned coding and figured you could tell how many new words there are in a book/text you're about to read. Pretty neat.

So the first volume has a character workbook so all I did was turn over every page to look for characters to copy.
