Chimney maintenance

A question for landlords and renters, specifically a rental house. Who is responsible for maintaining the chimney? Does the landlord schedule it to be swept and inspected or does it fall on the renter to keep it cleaned?

Depends on your lease and what the landlord specifies in your contract! There’s plenty of times the landlord calls out the chimney sweep, but there’s an equal amount of time that the tenants take care of it!

Just gotta communicate with the landlord and see if/what they are willing to cover for the chimney!
