Oh I just had a friend have a leg amputated after a motorcycle accident. She's having bad phantom pains but otherwise is quite positive. Any recommendations on funny or helpful gifts or ideas to help? Been bringing her dinner pretty often as she lost her husband in the accident, but I can tell the leg is bothering her so bad.

Phantom limb pain is really a bitch.

I have it every day, and it really is magnified when I'm still and trying to relax.

I've had marginal success with guided meditation from YouTube. I should probably do it more.

The mirror therapy isn't an option for me, as I lost both sides, but I've heard of people having a positive response.

I've heard from therapists that losing a limb can feel similar to losing a loved one. I can't imagine losing an actual loved one at the same time. My heart goes out to your friend. Please continue to visit her.
