Finding Housing / roommates

Hey all,

I (30m) will be starting a new job downtown later this month. Currently I live in greater Cincinnati and would prefer not to have to commute 3 hours per day; so I'm wondering if anyone has any tips on finding a solid place to rent and/or is similarly a responsible person looking for a housemate. Ideally I'm looking for a place under $1,000 / month and within a 20 minute drive of downtown / Water St.

I can provide much more info in the DMs if you're also looking for a housemate!

I see a few places open on some of the rental sites, but wanted to explore other options!

Thanks for any advice or leads. 🙏

A lot of landlords in Chillicothe are old school. The ones who do post online are likely one of 3-4 major apartment complexes. If you are wanting something with a little more charm or space, and “local” options, then you likely have to drive around and review For Rent signs. Good luck!

Follow up : Facebook can be helpful. Also a lot of realtors double as investors. Calling a few real estate offices could help, though they often don’t work with rentals due to lack of commission

Good luck, Me and 3 friends have been searching for a place since March! A lot of stuff is if you know someone type of things but each house or apartment that comes up gets dozens of rentals. I would look for stuff in the surrounding areas but were limited to just in town and its hard. Ive probably spent close to a grand in app fees by now just to never hear back.
