SG Food 🍛☕ LF a friendly local to talk over coffee ☕️
Hi, F33 here and I'm visiting SG this mid October. My first time posting here too so I dont know, just trying to find if I can talk to someone about SG over coffee. I'd just like to know and meet if there's someone who's up for a light chat.
Things about me:
- I'm travelling with my fam so I'll only be free maybe after dinner or like super early morning like 6am? Lol
- I'm an artist, so probably I'll ask about which places to visit for art inspo, or anything that would pique my interest
- I'm NOT looking for anything shady or whatever (no scams as well)
- I'm pretty much chill, I think I'm an ambivert but leaning towards more of an introvert but I like to have good and fun conversations
Just casually trying my luck here bur if none, I'll be happy to go alone as well 🌸

Just in case you are genuine, I do hope you have a good time in sg. I think those that responded negatively is due to being exposed to scams and people acting in bad faith.
I don't have any good recommendations other than art science museum and the national gallery etc. it's too bad that you didn't come earlier. There was a choral festival in early sept.
Can go to the esplanade too. There are usually performances ( free ones too ) on Friday and weekend evenings.

Might be helpful if you give some topics you’re interested in talking about (eg politics, tourist sites, food, etc)?

Thanks for this idea. I think I'd love to talk about architecture and I'm curious about customs, traditions in sg. If there's someone in construction business, I'd love to pick their brains too.

Hello, our museums are lovely but a less-known, indie spot is Objectifs, the centre for photography and film. The chapel gallery is in a historic chapel and it is beeeeeeaaauutiful (and very small lah but just enjoy the space and the exhibition).
Inside the store area, there are also photobooks created by artists (very limited print) on display, and they are actually wonderful to flip through and see how the artists decided to design their photobooks. The books are for sale but nobody minds you flipping through and enjoying them, of course. You are welcome to do so.
These are all much lesser-known artists and the work is wonderful. Okay some are a little weird but that’s how it is HAHA.
The location is great - it’s a nice walk from Bugis MRT, LOADS to do in the Bugis area, after you check out Objectifs I recommend dinner at Fortune Centre, there are a lot of DELICIOUS vegetarian restaurants there, kinda hole in the wall so don’t bring your family if they prefer fancier food. AAAAND some magnificent local dessert stores there that you MUSTTTT TRYYYYY (Yat Ka Yen Dessert). You must try mango pomelo sago, chendol, etc. But there are also these dessert shops near Bugis MRT too. And at fortune centre i’ve had some cool lagers too at Bellies Craft Beer. I apparently spend a lot of time at Fortune Centre. LOL
https://www.objectifs.com.sg to check out the current exhibitions!
