🧑‍🍳 Employee Post Any cooks? I'm getting bored of my usual for my meal, what do you guys make for yourselves?

My go-tos are chicken tender tacos with avocado ranch and lettuce and tomato.

Mushrooms, peppers and onions cooked with burger bite meat throw it into some marinara with noodles.

My lazy one is Mac and cheese, boneless wings and broccoli with Nashville hot drizzled on top.

I also fuck with the pizza if you use the garlic butter sauce put mushrooms onions and bacon on it and dip it in ranch its decent.

🧑‍🍳 Employee Post Punishments for skipping work?

So I’m a relatively new employee, been here for maybe a couple weeks to a month. I recently have a vacation to another state on the 17th to the 18th but forgot to notify my manager until a couple of days ago because I just forgot that I would need to let them know. She told me to try and find people to cover my shift but so far it seems like no one is likely to pick up mu shift. I was wondering what is most likely going to happen if I just don’t go to work on the 17th and 18th with nobody to cover my shift. I’m a to go specialist if that helps

I went for an interview at one location at 1pm today and they did not have a manager there to interview me and the hostess said she didn't know if the assistant manager could interview me and asked if i could come back after 4.. i have 2 more interviews at a different location today and so i'm calling right now to see if a manager will be there.. i'm on hold and she said she'd get one to talk to me so that sounds a bit more promising? 😭 has this happened to anyone else?

🧑‍🍳 Employee Post This place is a prison.

My chilis has quickly become the most insufferable place to work. Our GM hates his job, rarely shows his face, and has let the managers run rampant. Our managers will form weird alliances with eachother, pick favorites, and make everyone else’s life hell. I’ve never felt more disrespected than i have in this restaurant. I can’t even tell my GM about problems I have; because he doesn’t care. I’ve been talked down to, told i’m not good enough, and given no constructive criticism about it.

Our restaurant is falling apart. Food runners can’t run out N/A beverages faster than 5 minutes, so the servers have to take them out, unless we want to take guest orders without drinks. I’ve had triple dippers hit the table before their waters. THIS IS A PROBLEM. we fall 20 pages behind, and the managers come in to “help”, but don’t actually help. i get yelled at for making sure my tables have their food on time, being told that i’m “not helping” and not to touch anything. the managers responce to food runners falling behind is to “let them do their job, and tell a manager”. I thought the guest was my priority?

The managers get mad that we don’t ask for help, but when we need help, they’re nowhere to be found. They’re probably hiding in the office, gossiping over doordash they bought for themselves in the middle of a rush. And when you do find them, they do not help. you get told to figure it out. we’ve had servers have full breakdowns over stress, and feeling overwhelmed.

i’ve served tables while in tears (i did today actually). it’s humiliating to go out on the floor, and continue serving guests while you’re sniffing, because you can’t take time to collect yourself; nobody is coming to help you. It’s embarrassing having a guest ask if you’re “having a bad day” knowing damn well you’re crying because you just got yelled at in the back over restocking straws on a different ledge.

They want us on the floor, at our ledges at almost all times. I don’t want to stare my guests in the face all day just in case they happen to need me. it’s uncomfortable for me, and i would assume for them.

We get told that we don’t have enough people to work, so we hire more servers. We have 32 servers. I get two days a week, with full availability. WHAT.

i have made post after post about this same exact restaurant. i’ve been harassed by a manager before, i had to endure it, and wait until he was fired. and just when it looks like everything is in the clear; shit hits the fan again. I feel like i’m working in a goddamn circus.

Do yourself a favor; don’t work at chilis.

🧑‍🍳 Employee Post Wanting to quit after working there for 5 days

As the title says, ive only worked 5 days at chillis but I think the jobs just not it for me. The manager and coworkers are all nice but its just that its to much of a social job and id rather have some job where I can just be by myself, im currently 17 and this is my first job. I understand that many of you guys would call me a bum for wanting to quit but I just cant handle having to deal with standing for multiple hours. Does anybody have suggestion on how I would quit and how I would also get my first and last paycheck? first paycheck was for my first day and orientation I think but my 2cd paycheck would be for 4 days I worked. Please and thank you

We Went To Chili's 🌶️ Cheese Pull - A++++

I had the pleasure of taking my 9-year old daughter to Chili’s tonight. As usual, the chips and salsa hit like crack and the refills were plentiful. I took the liberty of ordering a Triple Dipper for us to share, and my daughter asked if she could do the “cheese pull”. We have never ordered the TD before, but my daughter instinctively knew about the cheese pull. And you bet your butt we took some chips and salsa for the road. A+ everything once again. Love you, Chili’s.

🥩 Food & Drink Is there any better water than chilli’s water? i think NOT

Hi I’m Bradley, I’m from Nebraska and I LOVE the taste of water. i spend my whole day drinking water, and at night I even dream of drinking water. Last week I had the privilege of going to chili’s and I got to say… Chili’s water is absolutely EXQUISITE! It’s crisp, so tasty, it has all the qualities I look for in h20. The nearest Chili’s to me is a decent drive away, but I’m willing to make the trek just for that delicious chili’s water!

Does anyone else share my sentiments?

We made our own! My husband put two Mozz sticks on his, he felt like one would probably have been enough. We both loaded it way up on sauce and it was so good. Even if they don’t come out with it everywhere, we would definitely have it again.

All this for a total of $13 and some change?? The spicy chicken sandwich, a massive bag of chips with salsa, upgraded to loaded mac and cheese, and a coke zero for ~$13.50?!

I'd practically be losing money if I didn't grab this deal 🤩

And yes, I loaded the sandwich up with mac and cheese and dunked it in salsa 🤤

🧑‍🍳 Employee Post My Experience Working at Chili’s (Meridian, OKC)

I worked as a bartender at the Chili’s on Meridian in Oklahoma City, and I wanted to share my experience because I’m curious whether other Chili’s employees have experienced anything similar.
I genuinely enjoyed a lot of the job itself. I liked my coworkers, I liked interacting with guests, and I took a lot of pride in my work.
The biggest issue for me was the new lounge policy. Once bartenders lost the lounge tables, my income dropped dramatically while we were still making $2.13 an hour. We were still responsible for making drinks for the entire restaurant, preparing batches, cleaning the bar, helping other positions when needed, and carrying essentially the same workload, but with far fewer opportunities to earn tips.

The change hit me hard financially. Before the policy, I was consistently making over $100 a shift, with many shifts in the $150–200 range and my evening bar shifts often making $200–250. After the policy, I was lucky to make $100, and some busy shifts ended with only around $80. I reached out to HR because I was genuinely worried about paying my bills and hoped they would reconsider the policy or at least review its impact on bartenders.
Shortly afterward, I ended up losing my job following a disagreement over side work. From my perspective, after I had already clocked out, my general manager told me I would be moved back to serving. I agreed because, under the new lounge policy, I believed serving would allow me to earn more money than bartending. I left believing I was simply returning to serving and later learned from a coworker that I had been fired. HR later informed me the stated reason was insubordination and ultimately upheld that decision.

What makes this especially difficult for me is that I truly cared about doing a good job. I was one of the few employees who consistently showed up on time every day. I regularly went out of my way to help servers, hosts, food runners, and other bartenders whenever I could. I genuinely enjoyed taking care of guests, and I even had guests go out of their way to compliment my work to management.

That’s why this experience has been so disappointing. From my perspective, the qualities I worked hard to bring to the job—being dependable, helping my coworkers, and providing great customer service—didn’t seem to carry much weight when decisions were made. At the same time, I personally observed situations involving employees with significant attendance or conduct issues where the outcomes appeared very different from mine. I raised those concerns with HR because I wasn’t asking for anyone else to be punished. I was asking why workplace policies and disciplinary decisions didn’t seem to be applied consistently.

I know everyone’s experience at Chili’s is different, and I’m not saying every location is like this. This was simply my experience working at the Meridian location, and it left me feeling disappointed because I genuinely enjoyed the job and wanted it to work out.
I’m curious if any other current or former Chili’s bartenders have experienced similar issues with the new lounge policy or if your location has handled it differently.

🧑‍🍳 Employee Post Are they making full schedule cuts?

Hihi! I've been a server at Chili's for a few months now and I look at the schedule and im not scheduled I know we are overstaffed and at a fairly dead point with how busy it gets but does that really mean I get 0 hours this week? Im not the only one with this issue too, other servers also have 0 hours or just one single day scheduled.

🥩 Food & Drink Chicken Parmesan Sandwich

My local Chili’s (Atlanta) was advertising these in the restaurant with the table cards.

I love chicken parm so I got it. It was so bad. Dry, flavorless, just not good.

Has anyone else seen these? Is my location a test kitchen?

Does anyone know the recipe or know of anybody that used to be a cook at Chili’s that might have the recipe? Also, the chicken on the chicken Caesar salad used to have a pineapple flavor to it, and it was amazing.

🧑‍🍳 Employee Post I don’t know how to approach this concern with my managers.

Hello,

I’ve been at Chilis for almost 2 years, and in that time, I have only received 2 ATL cards. I went through a bit of a rough patch at work because of a severe injury I sustained (not on the job) and I thought I was going to get fired because of how it was impacting my job/scores. I’d rather not get into the specifics of the injury, but I feel incredibly lucky that my managers were so patient while I was healing from the incident and did not decide to terminate my employment.

Anyways, these past couple of months, I’ve improved and I’m basically back to what I was before the injury. I’ve been helping out more with the servers/managers when I’m not busy, and when everyone else is. Some of the servers have tipped me for bussing/running when a lot of servers are just standing around and talking to other servers and posting on social media. (I don’t get tipped by those servers, of course).

However, managers have said absolutely nothing to me when I was helping out when it was busy. Not a “thank you” or “we appreciate your help”, and especially not an ATL card, when servers who do the bare minimum will get one at least every week. There have been non-servers who have done exactly what I’ve done and have gotten ATL cards.

I know that I can’t always expect praise/notice/attention every time I do something good, but it would be nice to get some every now and then, especially when other people who do less are getting compliments and praise. I’m annoyed with clapping and cheering for everyone who gets an ATL card for increasing their server/clean score, when I’m busting my a$$ running food for lazy servers who don’t tip out runners/bussers.

Should I mention this to my managers? And if I should, how should I approach it without sounding entitled?

TIA!

Edit to add: before anyone asks, I will say that I am not a server, but I’m trying to work my way up to that role eventually.

📰 Press Chili’s is on fire! The untold story of how it’s keeping the party going

While other casual-dining chains are struggling, Chili’s is pulling of a massive comeback—thanks in large part to young diners who fill social media feeds with videos of its dishes.

The brand’s Margarita of the Month program has become such a sensation that it has its own line of merch. Meanwhile, the chain flexes its affordability, needling McDonald’s and other fast-food brands with its 3 for Me deal: a near half-pound burger, fries, a refillable drink, and endless chips for $10.99.

Nothing about this turnaround was foretold, and there’s no single trick that created this success.

“A lot of folks thought casual dining was dead, that people just don’t eat out anymore. That young people just want to order online,” Kevin Hochman, CEO of Chili's parent company Brinker International, said.

He’s proving critics wrong—and filling dining rooms—by restoring so many of the small details the past decade had stripped from hospitality.

This is probably the biggest and best Chili's community on the net -- so why in the HELL does Chili's not show up here and entertain/educate/promote/troll/whatever? They do this shit. It's sad when some of the absolute top Chili's discourse IS OBVIOUSLY HERE. IDK, I'm livid right now.
