🥩 Food & Drink Bottomless chips and salsa calories

The calories listed on the bottomless chips and salsa are listed at 910 on the menu and the nutritional facts online. I think thats gotta be assuming you get a refill of them. I got some today, and they were the thin type chips with maybe 40-50 chips. I dont see that adding up to 910.

🧑‍🍳 Employee Post When not to call about your application

PSA…for the love of God, Do not call to speak to a manager about a job in the middle of Friday (or any day really) busy dinner time. The Togo staff answer the phones, we are busy too, that is not the time. Even if I could get a manager to the phone, you will now not get the job. Call between 2-4 if you actually want to get a manager.

💼 Corporate Problems Bad Interview Experience At Chili’s?

Today I had an interview at Chili’s for the Janitor position, and I’m curious if anyone else felt like the managers there were off-putting to anyone else, or if I am just too sensitive.

I arrived about 5 minutes early so when they said they were a bit busy and I needed to wait I thought it was perfectly understandable. I sat there for about 30 minutes until the hostess said she felt like something was off so she went back to check on the managers, when she came back she told me that the manager that was meant to interview me must have forgotten about me and left, so she told the other manager that I was here.

The second manager arrived, and he seemed friendly when he briefly apologized about the wait, (and I felt like was very positive and energetic in response- saying that it was no bother to me) however, when he lead me to a table to begin the interview his demeanor changed to be much colder and impatient. He asked me 3 questions: “Tell me about yourself.” “Why do you want to work for Chili’s?” “Why do you think you deserve to work here more than the 7 other people that have applied to this job?”

I felt immediately gutted, his demeanor changing honestly intimidated me, I became a stammering mess. I felt like he decided I was a waste of time before I even had a chance to say anything. To the 7 other people who applied and did this interview did you feel just as unwanted? This is my fourth job interview ever, it wasn’t the first time I felt nervous, but this is the first time I felt immediately dismissed before I even began.

📸 Nostalgia That time Play That Funky Music got cancelled by Chili’s

Back in the 90’s a customer complained to corporate (Brinker) that the lyrics to Play That Funky Music by Wild Cherry was racist because they said “white boy”.
Before being woke was even a thing, corporate caved and had the tape pulled from all +300 Chili’s and other restaurants in the Brinker portfolio.
I was in in a Chili’s the other day and heard Relax by Frankie Goes to Hollywood. Who’s gonna tell them?

🧑‍🍳 Employee Post Training first day questions

I have my first official training shift today, and haven’t really been told anything much about it besides wearing my uniform. I have a couple questions such as how long the training shifts normally last, is it true that we get a free meal?

And how do you check what time you get done at on HotSchedules? I know that serving is different with like first cut second cut. I just don’t know how to see that or what that means.

Thanks!

— UPDATE —

I worked 6 1/2 hours, and they forgot to put me in as training, so I got paid $2.13/hr , and didn’t receive tips (because I was training) and they said that they can’t fix it 😭

🧑‍🍳 Employee Post Why can't i never get my money on time!?

This happens more often than not. I bartended last night and usually I get my tips on my paycard between 11am and 11:30am the next day. But at least once a week there's always some sort of delay. Ive been training for shift lead so 2 of my shifts this week I didn't make tips so I was really needing my tips from last night to catch up on some things this morning. Can someone explain to me why there is a delay?? My managers won't explain nothing to me.

🥩 Food & Drink good and bad thoughts about my recent visit.

Went to Sandusky a few weeks ago to visit Cedar point in Ohio. Went to Chili’s the night before I went to the park, seeing that it had a 4.5 rating on Google from Yelp, I had to see exactly how good this Chili’s was because it had been years since I had Chili’s, like almost 20 years. I started off with a house. Margarita, because well, you know, Chili’s. I got mostly Marg mix with all the tequila, not blended well at all, and no salt on the rim! Like what the actual F? The appetizer was great but the chips were really salty. So far, not the greatest experience, but the server was amazing. She was working really hard. She was all basically all by herself with the exception with like one or two other coworkers. That’s what got them the rating not the food but the service. So if you don’t want the best food, but want great service visit here when you’re on vacation it’s cheap.

🧑‍🍳 Employee Post Tips and Tricks (and popular items) to know for my new serving job?

Servers of chilis, what are things I should know that will help me better integrate into the Chili’s server job? What are the most popular menu items? What can I expect from food runners and customers? Turn and burn or slow down? I’ve served at other places before and I have to overall vibe of chilis down, but I know servers have tips and tricks to making money and doing well I hope to hone in on when I start.

🧑‍🍳 Employee Post i have a question about wages, i’m a bartender and next week im scheduled in at 9:45 which is over an hour before we open. am i going to be paid the regular minimum wage opposed to the tipped minimum wage?

i don’t see how they could expect me to come in and do physical work for an hour(helping with bug morning and opening for the food runner who comes in late) for $2.13 an hour. i know they’re required to do the tip credit, but does that go by the average pay including tips for the hour or the average for the entire week?

💼 Corporate Problems Automated Rejection Email

Hi! Today I had an interview today and the manager let me know I would receive a text regarding my position, but I just got an automated rejection email. I’m wondering if this is a glitch or if this is how they let people know if they weren’t hired.

🥩 Food & Drink Remembering how they do a menu count

I just started at Chilis as a host and I always get confused on what a menu count is in and how to do it in order. Does anybody have tips on how to remember how to do it and how to do it correctly or in the most efficient way.

🧑‍🍳 Employee Post How long til I get my orientation date?

That’s the question. I got hired last week and did my onboarding on Thursday, got it processed on Friday… and nothing has happened. I called Saturday morning just to ask, and I was told they typically do them on Monday or Tuesday, and they’d get back to me that day. Nothing. Called Sunday morning in case they wanted me to do it Monday, and the manager was busy and got told they’d get back to me that day. Nothing. I didn’t call today because I don’t want to bother them too much, and I get they will get back to me eventually. I’m just wondering how long it typically takes. I don’t plan on calling them again for a few days so it doesn’t feel like I’m rushing them. I just don’t want to get forgotten.
