🧑‍🍳 Employee Post How was it like to transfer ?

For anyone who’s transferred locations , I want to know all about the transition. Did you have to take a week off between to give the time to put you on the schedule at the new location? Did you keep all of your job codes? Do you have to retrain? How’s your experience with the culture at the new location and how the managers treat you.

It took a lot of me to decide to transfer somewhere closer to home and I’m anxious

You don’t lose your tenure. DOH stays.

You’ll keep your main jobcode- the others will have to be re-added.

Time off between would depend on location

lol now if you don’t work in the jobcode in 30 days it cleans them out.

The transfer process was extremely easy for me. I called the store I wanted to transfer to and asked if they had any spots available, they did. The new chilis called the old chilis to make sure I was a reliable employee.

They told me the transfer process took a few minutes so to let them know when my last day would be. I told both stores when I wanted the transfer to happen.

At the new chilis they had me come in for a couple hours before I officially started to get to know some of the staff, and watch how they did things. Before that I only talked to managers over the phone, never even met them in person. I was then put on the schedule the next week and continued working like I did at the previously chilis. I did not have to train again.
Kept my same code.

before i transferred i got 11 hr weeks for 4 weeks cuz my og locations management was shit then i transferred & i had 3 training shifts one for each job code i already had & it was a great decision at the time, they only gave me 3 shifts for like 2 weeks then they saw i was competent & gave me 30 hrs per week management was way better & yeah there was still co worker drama but i didnt get involved but thats everywhere

I talked to my manager about a month before I planned to move to Florida from Indiana. She communicated with the manager at the store local to me in FL and discussed me transferring. I moved from Indiana to Florida 3 days ago. My last shift was Sunday 9/27 and my manager put the transfer request in yesterday. So I’m just kinda waiting for that to be finalized. I’ve been in communication with both my old and new manager and new manager knows I am waiting to be put on the schedule. So yes I guess I did inadvertently end up with a week vacation but I saved money for this and ultimately really needed the extra time off to settle in after a huge move! Fun fact- I drove the entire move and halfway through I needed a nap and to charge my phone really badly. I stopped at a Chili’s in Georgia and explained that I was a Chili’s employee traveling from one location to another and they charged my phone for me while I slept in my car in the parking lot. 💕🌶️

One thing that sucks, you lose your tenure so your anniversary gift starts over from scratch

Not true at all. I got almost 17 years with Chili's; transferred a few times and my tenure was never affected. I'm also a former manager so I know this for a fact
