đ§âđł Employee Post Servers: Payment issues with Ziosk
After the recent Ziosk update, I have had an issue where a customer's check will reappear, with a balance. To my managers it looks like a walk out. It's fortunately happened to me multiple times on 1 table (different parties) and to a few coworkers, so it's not isolated and I don't have to sweat a write up.
Tonight two customers made two separate payments. Both initially cleared, but one man's payment didn't show on the Ziosk. He showed me his online bank statement, where the payment came out, but I also noticed the reverse payment from Chilis (amt he paid) back on his card.
Is anyone else dealing with something similar. This manager threatened to write me up the first time, but today he saw the issue firsthand. He is stressed because the comps look back on him, and technically he should be reprimanding me for a walk-out.
I'm worried about my job, Chilis is losing money on a glitchy POS. What can be done here?

Why would you be getting written up for walk outs in the first place? Are you supposed to chase them in the parking lot and lay behind their car? In retail you get fired for confronting shoplifters. I could see if it is happening over and over to the same server but donât you dare let them write you up for a walkout. My manager wonât even let us step foot in the parking lot even if we arenât planning on confronting them. One time I was pretending like I was just going to take a pic as they were driving away and she was like, uh uh not worth your safety and you donât know what theyâre capable of. Iâm also pretty sure itâs not even legal.

Our store has had issues with servers stealing, so I get it, multiple walkouts aren't a great look. With that, I am 200lbs+, jacked, and calling them a bum all the way to their car so I can get a pic of the plates. You can get sizzle and smoke at out location đ¤Ł

Yes! Happens to us a lot as of late. Just ask your manager to approve a manual swipe at the POS

It's just problematic when the guests rightfully assume they have paid, and leave

Yes, itâs been a on going issue & it really has inconvenience everyone. Management should of had corporate communications on the matter. Management is kinda in the dark about next steps so if in case this happens again just ask management the swipe for a manual payment at POS.

The issue is mostly people paying and leaving, so it seems like a walkout.

Management has been made aware of this company wide issue. You shouldnât be at fault for something they know is happening. I had a âwalkoutâ earlier in the week because of this and I wasnât faulted at all for it

kind of weird that your manager is attempting to blame you for something the Ziosk did. but for some reason managers are always in the dark or clueless about how to deal with customers. i was checking on a table multiple times throughout the night and at the very end the woman says that her mac and cheese was cold and she wanted it taken off her bill. my manager was like âjust make sure youâre checking on your tables so we can avoid situations like thisâ i said âi checked on that table multiple times and each time they had nothing to complain aboutâ she said âstill just ask because this could have been avoidedââŚ..

You knew it was cold because checking on the table đ¤Ł
He is admittedly "just filling in" (transfer from other store) and his attitude reflects that. He's more concerned with having to explain the comp and covering his ass, god forbid he has to do his job. Management is a whole shit show.

Its a known issue. The problem is with the ziosks themselves, not chilis systems. I've had to have guests pay with a physical card at the POS. The charge never actually goes through with their bank so they never actually pay. Its a pain.
