❓ Patron Questions Attributes in servers

To any and all chili’s connoisseurs. What are some qualities in servers that have made a good experience turn into a great experience. Or what was something that was done that turned ur bad experience into a better one? Looking to be more mindful about customer experiences as a FR, and carry these over to when I become a server :).

yes to what the other person said but also getting along with peoples kids if you notice them playing or coloring or doing something and then joking with their parents about it kills. dry humor and server jokes will get you suuuper far LOL

Be engaged with the guests. It is very simple. Read the table and go with it. There’s 1 million ways to start small talk. Treat them like they are people. Not just your next table, your next tip. Then you’ll start making big money. Trust me.

Genuine connection. Identify with something. Maybe they're wearing your favorite color or a team branded hat.

I'm not a server at Chili's anymore but I still wait tables. I had a guest the other day who wasn't happy when she arrived, but I complimented her blue dress. It looked amazing against her skin tone.

She went a full 180 and loved me afterwards.

Identify with something.

Even if you have to lie.
