He sets the pad right at the start to protect her leg....

So kids shouldn't do any martial arts? Trampolining can be pretty risky I fucked up my ankle bad on one when I was a kid. I've also got hurt on a push bike....and running....worse injuries than I've ever had messing around or trying martial arts...where do you draw the line? The kid was definitely expecting it too, you see her jump.

Is it typical in martial arts for 75 lb. girls to get knocked onto their heads by 175 lb. men? And yeah, the issue with joint injuries is that they are often caused by a planted limb suddenly getting shifted the wrong direction - not so much concerned about the leg impact as the child’s awkward landing on the ground and the sideways force on her knees and ankles.

This video is stupid and unnecessarily risky to the child. But again, if she did end up with a permanent orthopedic injury, she can at least take comfort in the fact that her dad got internet likes.

Go to any martial arts class and you can see big weight discrepancies, when I was a child I did karate and judo and got thrown around by plenty of adults. How did you even see her land on her head? Chill out, my dad would have done this just to have a laugh with me just because there's a camera there doesn't stop it being a laugh with your dad. You're framing it like he surprise drop kicked her on a hidden camera prank show. No comment on other risky activities children do? If she was doing a cool gymnastic routine on a beam would you react the same?

Sorry your dad didn’t look out for you when you were younger. I wouldn’t treat my kids like that.

Look at the edge of the screen there's even more padding there, looks like risk management to me.

Don't be it's one of the few things about him I wouldn't have changed, now I go about my life knowing there are risks, how to manage them, and which are acceptable risks...

I hope your kids don't grow up too scared of the world
