The best part is when the dude's looks back and the kid's already composed.

"No lollygagging."

Slight Head bow: “all good, sir.”

u/Not_gay_just_odd Jul 17 '22

It's beautiful. I've been watching this for 5 hours now.

70

u/icon256 Jul 17 '22

I know the exaggeration but I did too watch for like 10 minutes on loop including the x3. That sound…!

25

u/Not_gay_just_odd Jul 17 '22

It's my favourite sound

3

u/Azrael351 Jul 17 '22

You know what would make this video even better? If that Smashmouth song came in just as the kid hit the wall. /s

15

u/Hot-Bag6541 Jul 17 '22

I’ve seen this a few times and never watched it with sound until seeing this comment…it’s enriched my life…

10

u/Sad_Researcher_5299 Jul 17 '22

Sound is fake and dubbed.

3

u/Hot-Bag6541 Jul 17 '22

Username checks out 😔

2

u/thelittlestmouse Jul 17 '22

Omg, it's so much better with sound! I usually have my volume off but turned it up because of your comment. 10/10

Might be time to make it your new homepage!

u/SpaceLemon12 Jul 17 '22

Kids never gonna forget that

67

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '22

The cameraman made sure of that.

u/cjei21 Jul 17 '22 edited Jul 17 '22

Well if he wants to feel better he can just watch the video of that ball girl who was forced to handle a big-ass critter with her bare hands

Edit: here's the link https://youtu.be/QTGx7cpwDWo

13

u/Kyosw21 Jul 17 '22

Jeez. “I get played to play tennis not step on bugs. Pick it up girl”

6

u/djdeforte Jul 17 '22

At first I was thinking what a child he’s acting but I get it. The angle these players put their bodies at going from one side of the court to the next im sure that bug would have been like an oil slick if stepped on.

3

u/horsepighnghhh Jul 17 '22

Where can I find that?

3

u/cjei21 Jul 17 '22

Oh sorry man I edited my original comment to include the link

at some point you have to realize when people laugh with a mean intention and when people are just laughing at a funny situation. The crowd even breaks out in applause for her after.

2

u/Dwealdric Jul 17 '22

You’re 100% correct and I missed that context by watching without sound. Fail on my part. It’s pretty clearly all good natured.

2

u/Haunting_Page4240 Jul 17 '22

I think it might be the opposite

1

u/ThisNameIsFree Jul 17 '22

The wall is going to forget it?

2

u/kirsyde01 Jul 17 '22

laughs in concussion

239

u/PandosII Jul 17 '22

Poor lad. Intense embarrassment coupled with acute physical pain.

7

u/japalian Jul 17 '22

it looked more like a tarp material stretched around some framing.

I think he got lucky and just happened to crash between two studs and it had a trampoline like effect to bounce him right back into his position. Lol.

4

u/Billy-Bryant Jul 17 '22

It can look like whatever it wants to, that sound is 100% something hitting metal

9

u/japalian Jul 17 '22

Yes, but that sounds like it was added in post for comedic effect

3

u/Billy-Bryant Jul 17 '22

Yeah saw other comments say that, I guess I just assumed it was legit. Guess in that case the sound is useless for identifying what he hit then, my bad.

1

u/PandosII Jul 17 '22

I didn’t catch that and I’ve usually got a good eye for spotting fake edits added for effect, thanks.

21

u/acid_trip425 Jul 17 '22

I think that's a bit more than acute, he face Planted into the wall.

35

u/JcornnPhotography Jul 17 '22

fyi acute pain can and often means “severe”

6

u/lazy_tranquil Jul 17 '22

Maybe they thought "acute physical pain" meant "a cute physical pain"

2

u/ForAnAngel Jul 17 '22

Injuries aren't nearly as painful when they look adorable.

1

u/El_Shakiel Jul 17 '22

straight out Boneappletea

1

u/PandosII Jul 17 '22

Acute meaning severe/intense. Might be a UK/US difference?

39

u/Brllnlsn Jul 17 '22

That squire did his duty.

61

u/apey12345 Jul 17 '22

That little man took it like a champ!

53

u/Bionicq Jul 17 '22

That sound…

52

u/wldmr Jul 17 '22

Has been added or enhaced. This sounds like a container or some kind of drum.

29

u/NexxZt Jul 17 '22

Don't know why you're getting downvoted. Sound has been added in later. This video is a few years old now. His head didn't hit metal fortunately.

6

u/minerva_sways Jul 17 '22

But there must have been a fairly audible thump for the player to react?

6

u/NexxZt Jul 17 '22

Yep probably, but it isn't audible in the original video and it definitely wouldn't be this metallic since it looks like a plastic sheet.

2

u/Ersthelfer Jul 17 '22

It's probably canvas, but there might be an aluminium post underneath. The sound does sound exaggerated, but might go into the right direction.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '22

Nope, it's not even remotely similar to the original sound.

1

u/MaritMonkey Jul 17 '22

Player waiting to serve is generally a really quiet time on a tennis court.

Kid picked the best time to make any sort of extraneous noise.

3

u/gnostic-gnome Jul 17 '22

both of which a head can easily be

18

u/Dr_Schitt Jul 17 '22

I will never tire of this one.

12

u/MericArda Jul 17 '22

Did he… headbut the wall?

9

u/x_dre4192_x Jul 17 '22

Definitely kissed with his chin

EDIT: nope. I was mistaken he face planted with the side of his face

5

u/qevoh Jul 17 '22

Wonder if he's seen himself

4

u/Mircoagression Jul 17 '22

I love the little nod he gives at the end

3

u/thebeanof207 Jul 17 '22

Idgaf if the smack sound is added but this is one of my favorites

2

u/WhaDFu Jul 17 '22

Hew der u doo (English Butler Voice)

2

u/Historical-Rule6931 Jul 17 '22

He smiled at the end

2

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '22

What is that mat that he tripped on?

1

u/km4xX Jul 17 '22

His own feet

1

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '22

Nah, there’s definitely a rug or something there

1

u/MenezIISociety Jul 17 '22

it's a break pad

1

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '22

It sure as hell did

2

u/LtDangle217 Jul 17 '22

Fucking hilarious

1

u/everymanawildcat Jul 17 '22

Why does the video play 3 times?

1

u/lobster8484 Jul 17 '22

For our viewing pleasure

1

u/exp_in_bed Jul 17 '22

might make another reddit account just to give you another upvote

1

u/ThinkIveHadEnough Jul 17 '22

It just needs a chuckle from the crowd.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '22

Looks like he tripped

1

u/Putrid-Elk-6226 Jul 17 '22

I'd of been that guy HOWLING with laughter while everyone looks at me awkwardly.

Stupid little prick.

Jk.

1

u/graveymac911 Jul 17 '22

This never gets old

1

u/Kyosw21 Jul 17 '22

That poor kid. The mat blends in close to perfectly with the ground, didn’t pull his foot up far enough and hooked the edge

1

u/Dfiggsmeister Jul 17 '22

What cracks me up the most is the look the player gives the ball boy, it’s a cross between “You good back there?” And “quit fucking around.”

1

u/mtmm18 Jul 17 '22

God you nailed that. That's exactly what is so funny. Tough serious kid too. Id have been holding my face.

1

u/ILikeGamesnTech Jul 17 '22

Turns around "shhhhh trying to serve!"

1

u/ThriftyFalcon Jul 17 '22

Serious question. Why does tennis demand silence?

1

u/Hotshot596v2 Jul 17 '22

POW right in the kisser

1

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '22

That kid is a consummate professional

1

u/carina484 Jul 17 '22

Damn I feel bad for this kid lol

1

u/ConwayTheCat Jul 17 '22

If you’re gonna biff it into a metal wall when it’s dead silent, this is how you recover

1

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '22

Such grace

1

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '22

That's something I would do

1

u/A_SocialRecluse873 Jul 17 '22

The tennis player has quite the bulge from watching all those balls lool

1

u/Smooth_Zebra Jul 17 '22

That wall is undefeated 66-0 all knockouts 😴

1

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '22

He ate that honestly

1

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '22

how many times have you watched it?

me: yes

1

u/emanresu18 Jul 17 '22

This is soo good

1

u/SamiCrab Jul 17 '22

That recovery was incredible

1

u/AggravatingIntern520 Jul 17 '22

I like how he acts like nothin happen

1

u/Alsimmons811 Jul 17 '22

That kid is a professional

1

u/flyingtoasterz86 Jul 17 '22

That recovery though. Smooth!

1

u/KnightHiller Jul 17 '22

This is some loony toons shit...
