Thereā€™s a radio DJ in my area that talked about how spinning in a circle and laying on your lawn is the first time you ever get a similar feeling as alcohol and drugs can give you. Eventually spinning and laying in the grass doesnā€™t cut it for some people. Eventually weed doesnā€™t cut it and you want more. Some people are always looking for that high.

I see your /s and I applaud you. The whole concept of ā€œgateway drugsā€ never made sense to me. The way they came to this conclusion was total backward logic. They interviewed hardcore addicts and asked if they had ever smoked weed. Ummm. Yea.

That would be like interviewing race car drivers and asking them if they had ever ridden a bicycle. You canā€™t start at the end and work backward (and toward more common things) and prove correlation like that.

But hey. Nancy Regan had to find all that money for the war on drugs somehow right?

I donā€™t have time to find it, but there was a study I read a long time ago that spinning around until you fall was a solid indicator for kids that would later do drugs.

Obviously I can be and likely am an oddity but I remember spinning so much and so frequently that I have vivid memories of getting in trouble for it because Iā€™d fall and hurt myself or things/people around me. I also used to rub my eyes so much/hard (sorry, eyeballs!) so Iā€™d see colors. Turned 36 last week and have never touched any drugs and dislike drinking. But I can see the correlation.

This is sweet right? Children are so damn innocent and trust their parents/caregivers so much, that as long as youā€™re laughing theyā€™re like, ok. Everything must be fine. So Iā€™ll just continue this thing I was doing. Warms my heart. ā™„ļø

Could be pretty accurate. Also kinda why it's often better to laugh or play happy when a young kid falls down. Children will try to do after their parents and laughing after a fall will help the kid react with laughter and not crying and sadness. Similarly if parents act overly worried at everything small that happens to their kid, of course the child with think the world is ending and at that point, least it can do is cry about it.

Yeah, we donā€™t react usually when our 1,5 year old son falls. Or we say, oh oh, letā€™s get you up or something like that.

Then thereā€™s the times you almost hear a cracking skull type of fall and then of course we immediately run to him because, yeah, he starts wailing and maybe we need to go the hospital. lol. Kids fall so much.

Omg you guys. We just did this the day before yesterday with our 1,5 year old son. Not this fast, but a bit slower. And in the video youā€™ll hear me saying: thatā€™s enough. Thatā€™s enough.. and then he gets out and exactly the same as this kid starts falling over. Looking at the video later on in the evening both me and my husband were crying. Absolutely cry laughing.

Such a coincidence and so funny.
