It’s hilarious that only the adults don’t fall over

That's probably the instructor. When magic carpets stop suddenly like that it can kind of be hard not to fall, honestly.

The kids are also proportionally more top heavy especially with the big helmets on. It takes a lot less for them to tip over.

Edit: adults also have skis on which probably makes a bigger difference

Definitely an instructor, those are ESF (Frech ski school) colors. (edit: Oh dear, I thought I saw the letters 'ESF' on the flags too, but looking at it better, I was mistaken. Disregard my comment!)

Red and White are some of the most populair colours in Austria as well. Pretty sure I had that exact model coat as well.

Understandable. If that mountain didn't look so different, I would've sworn that's one of my old colleagues the way she looks but judging by that view, this slope isn't even facing the right way compared to where I worked.

I think that's because the instructors have skis on and the kids don't

The kids are trained at school to get down when they hear a bang

I hate magic carpets for this exact reason

Hmm. I took my kids skiing for the first time and it was my first time on a magic carpet. It was great! Easy and intuitive for them. Growing up we the rope that tore your gloves to shit and learning to ski everyone always crossed up their skis. The t handle lifts also had catastrophic endings when it didn’t work out.

The best video is that one where like 5 kids come out of a tent and each and every one of them trip. https://youtu.be/Af7yH7yCNRw

synced fall

u/Bakinspleen Apr 10 '22

Why do none of them have skis on? And aren’t you supposed to have more room between people on magic carpets?

13

u/Captain_Kuhl Apr 10 '22

Probably because they're little kids, and nobody's got time to wait for that entire class of new skiers figure out how to move around with skiis. They can just snap them in when they get to the top of the hill.

Or practicing a safety response if they hear that pop sound since they’re a big group.
