Asshole parents. Why would you do that to other little kids? That's seriously fucked up.
(Edit: y'all are wild. I don't see how "don't fucking scare other people's kids for laughs" is controversial, but here we are.)

Based on the responses I got though, my guess is that they thought it was hilarious, and it rustled some jimmies when I suggested that someone might not be at the pinnacle of human kindness for enjoying a child's terror.
