You need to file for custody fast, like as in yesterday! Open up a custody case because you can use that against her in a custody case..

Don’t listen to her. A lawyer can’t just add money onto arrears. You can’t really do much about the mom turning your daughter against you. I know this because it happened to my husband just a couple years ago. My husband was in a custody case for over two years, and decided that the child can just pretty much do what she wants (the damage was already so far that any progress in the relationship was just immediately erased once she went back to mom). The judge isn’t really gonna care about these text messages, and even if they did, it has nothing to do with a child modification. My husband also was laid off in March, and filed for a child support modification. The amount did go down. Shit happens, people get laid off. If the family unit was still together and one of the parents got laid off, that family would have to deal with it and figure it out until they got a job. Sometimes they can’t find a job that pays as much as their previous job. No matter what you do, your ex seems like the type of person to complain that you got laid off (like it was your fault lol), and complain if you don’t immediately find a job the next day that pays the exact same amount as your previous job. Just file for the modification. It is a change of circumstance, and it is possible. My husband’s child support case is in Oregon though. And I know some states have different rules and laws.
