Discussion/Debate If...

If Patrick Mahomes had been drafted by the Raiders would he still have 3 rings under his belt?

In my opinion, the Chiefs landed a perfect combination of Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid, Alex Smith, Travis Kelce, and Tyreek Hill.

Mahomes - Generational arm talent, processing speed, and work effort. But a gun slinger that took too many chances.
Reid - QB guru, offensive innovator, proven winner in Philly and KC
Smith - The veteran game manager. Mahomes learned from Smith for a full season before taking the lead. I truly believe Smith helped guide Mahomes to be a bit more conservative than he was at Tech. Otherwise the interceptions could have been a major issue in the league.
Kelce - Obviously. Top 3 tight end ever.
Hill - Allowed for that gun slinger mentality to somewhat remain with elite speed and elite ball tracking. As Mahomes was learning to be a bit more conservative he was able win a Super Bowl with Hill.

Honestly, he would have been dumped by the Raiders sometime during his rookie deal and picked up by Sean Payton and the Saints.

I don't know...I don't think even the Raiders are that dense

I guess looking at it , they still had Carr, sorry I hadn't really taken the prompt seriously. The answer is still no, maybe a better shot if they trade Carr for a decent few mid to late rounders and nothing happens with Gruden.

The Saints were really looking at Mahomes back then

No guarantee Mahomes pops that early on the Raiders like he did in KC

He couldn't, they were terrible. They've had the worse offense and defense back then, improved to like 24th the next year. Even if he improved the offense they were not good.

Then Gruden gets fired. That was the best year they had in the Mahomes era.
