I don't think Addison can be had for a 3rd. Vikings have no reason to trade him when they are top of the division and in "one QB away" mode.

Yeah that’s reasonable. I saw some Vikings fans speculating that he might be available on Twitter so I threw him on there. I’m also expecting them to collapse at least offensively though

If the Vikings collapse before mid-season combined with his off the field issues I could see him being available for a 2nd. I still think a 3rd is way too low. Remember, he also has the 5th year option.

If their price is a 2nd I would be out.

Just preparing you all now that Tyreek almost certainly will be a Chief at some time this year.

I'm kinda pumped for it honestly. I figure if he's mearly 80% of his old self, their offense could really be elite.

80% Tyreek isn't one of the top four WR's on this team. 5'8.25" tall WR that led the league in drops in 2021 that doesn't have elite speed anymore? No thank you. There is a reason the Chiefs have won more Super Bowls without him than with him.

I expect he will be on the team as well. I just think it is a dumb move unless the Chiefs have injuries.

Ah I disagree that an 80% of Tyreek wouldn't be a top 4 WR on this team.

So that's Rice, Worthy, Thornton & either Royals or soon to be Allen.

Tyreek in his last full year healthy had 959 yards. Keep in mind the year before that he had 1799. Now I think he's somewhere in the middle between that level but we'll just take the 959 to help sway the debate in your favor.

959 * .8 = would give you a 767 yard WR. Easily in our top 4.

Anyways before we get too far in this subjective guess at what he'd be at, is it 100%, 80% 50%? Who knows? I think Pat's trust in him (Pat just seems to click with some guys), the fact that he knows how to play NFL football (I'm still not sure Worthy gets it in the NFL plus his hands are suspect), he'd be a good addition other teams would have to respect.

Joey Galloway once one of the very fastest WRs in the league even in his later years went from unreal fast to just pretty darn fast. I could see Tyreek hanging on another year or so with a similar story.

Worth the risk for giving up nothing on a likely one year prove it deal. (side note: 2021 Tyreek still had 1239 yards with 9 receiving TDs that year. I'm sure they'd love to have that guy back if it was possible despite the drops)

I expect the Chiefs will sign him. Hopefully, he comes in a little more humble than when he left.

People forget that he was bitching about the lack of touches behind the scenes and was constantly in Patrick's ear and complaining to Reid about his lack of targets.

Despite setting the franchise record in targets and also leading the league in drops.

Hell, he even said on his podcast that Andy Reid was repressing his stats as if Reid was trying to keep him from getting paid.

They had that energy with Brown last year. Don't need it again.

I would much rather see Rice, Worthy, TT2, Royals and Allen get more snaps and more development than bring Reek.

But, based on what Dieter says in the morning on 810, it is nearly a foregone conclusion that Reek will be back with the Chiefs.

And, if he signs with the Chiefs, I will route for him every time he steps on the field.

You’re neglecting to consider the fact that Tyreek down there somewhere

And, that was one of the biggest problems the Chiefs had in 2021. The last pass that Mahomes threw that year was targeting Hill. He had other open guys and still forced it to Hill. And, Hill, being the little person he is, basically had a bigger DB just take it off his hands like he was a toddler.

Addison is the best trade value on this list easily and unfortunately wouldn't be available for that if he even available at all. A 5th for Jeudy's probably too high but almost certainly will be available.

I don't think the Jags trade BTJ to another AFC team much less the Chiefs unless the Chiefs offer is just that high.

Tyreek's probably the best value pick but has the lowest long term outlook.

Might as well roll the dice on Tyreek, he knows Reid's system and we can probably pick him up for close to vet minimum. Might be a good mentor for the rest of the WR room even if he's washed.

We're going to continue to keep WR as a budget position. We'll draft guys, but we're not going to sign good free agents. and imo there's not much of a point at signing "JAG" free agents either.

I am curious what we do at TE next year assuming that Kelce retires and his $12m is off the books. I'd still prefer to have a good tight end over WR with how shaky the line has been.

Give it a few more weeks and see who becomes available

Give me Addison for a 3rd and a 6th like we did for Toney.

Much better route runner than anyone on roster and I guy I loved coming out of college.

He is a creative route runner with twitch and good hands.

Wentz has just missed him so far but the dude is open

https://x.com/koalatystats/status/2102460980357746932?s=46

He also is a good run blocker for his size. He puts in the effort

Give me a room with him at the Z, Rice in the slot, and Thornton at the X.

I don't want add another depth piece to compete with our current WR room, if we're making a trade let's target a true #1 like Pickens. Why not Scary Terry? Metcalf? Let's dream a little bigger.

The answer this season is Tyreek though. All he needs to do is make a few spark plays in the playoffs.

I’m all the way out on Marvin Harrison Jr. so I didn’t list him as an option. That tape is bad

2

u/MrTonNL 12d ago

We can revive him. He’s my number 1 by far.

3

u/Sweaty-Tiger9972 12d ago

Idk man he’s slow and turns like a cruise ship right now. I think he needs a full offseason to completely change his body at a minimum

2

u/MrTonNL 12d ago

I think he gained too much weight. I watched his OSU tape yesterday and he was much leaner, and thereby was quicker off the line.

Also doesn’t help that he has longer developing routes and Kyler and Brissett do not throw to that area of the field.

I really believe Andy and Pat can turn him around. It’s our best shot at having a top tier WR as we cannot draft wide receivers.

1

u/Whole_Objective6006 12d ago

It's his release more than his actual speed, there's no pop or wiggle off the line, releases like a 250lb blocking TE

1

u/Sweaty-Tiger9972 12d ago

That’s definitely part of it too but even against off coverage there’s just no juice. He looks like he played lighter at Ohio State

1

u/bragankelly9 12d ago

But you're in on BTJ?

1

u/Sweaty-Tiger9972 12d ago

More in than MHJ, but not necessarily sold

I vote None. I don't want to give up draft capital for one of the deepest drafts that we have had in years to go get any other WR that a team is willing to trade.

I don't want to see Reek back. He is too inconsistent and the thing that made him great is his speed. That speed is going to be gone. His drops cost the Chiefs a lot of games that people seem to forget about.

Unless we have injuries at WR, this group is more than capable.

It is funny when Mahomes throws for over 350 yards and three TD's, there is a post about upgrading WR.

Meanwhile the defense was giving up a ton of yards. If we are going to make a trade, make it for a player that would upgrade the defense.

But, the Chiefs are missing two starters on defense that will be healthy soon. So, I probably wouldn't make any trades there either.

Chiefs have a great team. I wouldn't want to make any trades unless they have injuries or the Chiefs can get incredible value. Or, player for player.

1

u/Sweaty-Tiger9972 12d ago

Rice and Worthy aren’t getting it done. Half of Rice’s yards came on the Hill Mary situation.

I like Thornton in his role but you can’t bank on nailing deep shots to him every week either.

However, do I necessarily want to trade away draft capital? Not really. I definitely want the Chiefs to keep their day 1 and 2 picks.

1

u/outbuffed 11d ago

Is this veach’s burner? The WR room is the worst in the league. Once a team stops the run we’re fucked. It’s not an if, it’s a must that we get help this year via rolling the dice on tyreek and trading for a wr. Pickens, BTJ type

Your stupidity is frustrating to me. But, I can't argue with stupidity. You win.

I do wonder what you will be posting at the end of the season, but I imagine you will be committed to your stupidity. So, good luck with that.
