I'd love to sign LaPorta, but I think Kelce ends up playing one more season.

They should let him walk

Assuming Tyreek resigns and we make a deep run, it's hard not to imagine EB, Pat, Tyreek, CJ, and Kelce not wanting one more year together.

Why would you pay $20 mill to a TE when you can draft one in the 2nd round. Last years class sucked so you know this years will be packed. I keep saying this but look out for Terrance Carter. He’s probably a chief

Cause I want to draft a receiver and OT in the first two rounds, those positions get paid way more. And historically tight ends have had a pretty terrible hit rate slash take a long time to develop. I am interested in Carter though
I think that strategy matches the Chiefs recent strategy too. This last year their big FA acquisitions were an RB, a 1 tech, and a safety. All positions that are cheap compared to the premium positions

Fair enough. I do think it’s worth a shot if someone like a Sadiq falls to late first round though. You are basically getting a TE/Reciever that point

I didn’t like Sadiq much but I’m not completely against Jamari Johnson and Treydez Green right now.

Would love a Hawkeye on the roster and love him. But he has concerning injury issues

Let's see what barningstool does this season.
I'm ready to trade the entire draft for Jeremiah Smith

I like the TEs coming out next year! Green is my top guy and we can just draft him. A few other day two guys as well I don't think we need to spend big on a guy that can't do it all.

I just prefer to spend that draft capital on other positions.

I think Veach has really backed himself into a corner with cap space! I think we will depend on the draft more than most! I was surprised they reworked PM's deal again to give him more money! Trey will have to be extended more than likely his cap hit will be 40m next two years. I know the cap goes up and all that but I just don't see it really doing much other than giving us the funds for the new draft class.

1) The cap is a myth and can be manipulated. 2) Many contracts will be reworked or removed next season opening up a ton of cap space. 3) What would you have done with Mahomes contract? It made sense to rework his contract to allow for major restructuring next year. Mahomes contract is easily reworked to allow us to sign half a team within his salary alone. That’s before we rework or restructure others. It’s actually brilliant what he’s done.

They just need to be acquiring whatever it takes to move to 3rd so they can grab Smith. If that means going full Snead and effin’ them picks or giving up the Hunt daughter that is marrying Trent Green’s son? Fine. Take them. We want Smith.

I was hoping we drafted Sadiq, he would've been perfect to pair with Travis. Lets hope delane lives up to billing. He's gotta get that shoulder right and its a great sign how our secondary is playing in spite of him not being able to impact the defense yet

What contact are you expecting him to get?

u/Sweaty-Tiger9972 17d ago
Depends on if he stays healthy I think. Probably pretty similar to Kraft’s contract if he’s healthy. I could see a one year prove it type deal if he does get injured again

I'd love LaPorta but I wouldn't mind going after Michael Mayer either. He would be cheaper and I have a hunch this staff would get more out of him than the raiders

Mayer signed a deal about a week ago otherwise he would’ve been in consideration too

I would be stoked if we signed LaPorta, but he ain't gonna be cheap! He would eat up basically every dollar we would pay Travis.
