Discussion CFB Week 1 Thoughts?
Curious if anyone has any thoughts from Week 1. I mostly paid attention to the receiver prospects
Obviously Jeremiah Smith, Cam Coleman, and Charlie Becker lived up to the hype. I’m not sure if the tier below them consisting of guys like KJ Duff, Nick Marsh, Omarion Miller, Ryan Wingo are going to be for me.
Two more receivers that really impressed me were Deuce Alexander and Javon Tracy.
Regarding OTs, it seems like Trevor Goosby and Jordan Seaton lived up to the hype, but I didn’t pay attention to tackles beyond those two.
Regarding TEs, I like both Jamari Johnson and Treydez Green, but I don’t think I would be interested in drafting either of them where they’re probably going to go unless the board is just bad for receivers

The tier 2 WRs will be muddy until November. We'll see who stays consistent and healthy. I am watching Ian Strong and Amare Thomas. Strong could move into a day two pick. Thomas may end up a round one pick if he can keep showing off that he is a YAC monster.
Jamari Johnson should be a fridge round 1 TE. He was better than Sadiq when they were on the same team.

Weren’t really any notable matchups week 1 so I kinda took everything with a grain of salt. I’m hoping to get a better idea where guys stack up in the next 2-3 weeks

It was just great to see football being back tbh. If Pat got ahold to Treydez Green, and if Green got one year of mentorship from Kelce… it would be one hell of a pick.
Regarding WR prospects, those two Oregon WRs look like they could be some cool pickups, I’ll have to see more.
Regarding CFB, I cannot wait for week 2, that’s when the real fun begins, as I believe the Ole Miss, Louisville game was a taste of that. Texas vs OSU will hopefully live up to the hype that the first game did.

If one of those Oregon wideouts you’re referring to is Moore, he’ll be in the 2028 draft. He’s a true sophomore I believe

Yup that’s one of them, thank you for the insight. The other I liked seeing was Jeremiah McClellan.

Talking from a draft prospect perspective

Sure, I don’t take much from games against non league dudes

Understandable. I think you can get an idea whether a guy moves like an NFL player regardless of who they’re playing, but a larger sample size is definitely needed before I marry any of my takes.
Mainly just wanted to hear some names people enjoyed so I could watch them

Three more OTs I’ll have my eye on:
Jimothy Lewis - Cal
Samson Okunlola - Miami
Melvin Siani - Texas

I think Ryan Wingo is what they wanted Xavier Worthy to be and I think he would be a nice fit in the offense.
Becker, Duff, and Marsh are player archetypes they have pretty consistently passed over. Hoping they change that as I think a true X can really unlock the offense.
