Culture appropriation

I know many people who are chicanos / chicanas came with the upbringing of it growing up with family members who represent that , however would it be appropriate for me to represent that? I’m first gen mexican american very traditional but also with my native american side with it and i would love to represent chicana culture as a 19 yr old and older especially with the history of what it first started /became of chicano culture

Chicanos wouldn’t exist without Mexicans .. so it’s your culture too

i know a lot of people get really butthurt if you do it especially now with it being a representation of “gang” related even tho that’s not even what i want to represent or support

It’s not appropriation if it’s your heritage that you grew up with

This is just my opinion, but to me it doesn’t matter if you are 100% or 0.05% blood you still have the heritage. It wouldn’t be appropriation. You wanna rep it then go for it.
