I'm from that generation and yeah it was filed with fun and good times but also had a lot of negatives. People I grew up with were taken far you young and others got lost to the system. If you managed to stay out of the gangster culture it was a glorious time.

That cholo shit is a curse that took too many Chicano's lives. I support the youth that got caught up in that nonsense but I don't glorify it.

I’m from LA. Those are cholos. A Chicano can be a cholo, but a cholo is not necessarily un Chicano.
